why do the mods stay hidden? is it something that must be done, cuz that sounds pretty lame to stay hidden? who are the mods anyway and why do they stay hidden? come on out now....

I am a neutral in this, just for teh record...

The mods stay hidden cuz if they didn't, then everyone would be pm'ing them and harassing them. Staying hidden makes their "job" easier.

I would wager that if it became known who the mods were, it'd cause broken friendships, outright flaming in the forums if said mod were to post as him/herself, thus causing derailment of any given topic, or perhaps even outright toadyism as people nuzzle up to the mods in an effort to curry favor.

(shrug)

That's my take on it.
