I also have another question (sorry ^^;) but I was curious, for those of you that make AMV's, how would you convert the files from a DVD to a file that you can work with (such as AVI or MPEG)

If this hasn't already been answered, necroposting is bringing back old topics that are "dead". It's very annoying and people won't be too happy if you do that.
