Sorry, I've been a little busy to update.
Here's a short one to keep anyone who's interested fed; a submission to an even tighter word limit contest at 100:
Contemplation’s Reward.
I stand here, time behind, future ahead. Which way? Left, right, wrong- all seem the same. Faces. Every man a face, every face a mask to hide the man beneath. People. So many. All different; all alike. Every boy already a dead man, every girl already a crone. Only a matter of time. So much time, so little to do, so little that can be done with but one life. Life. So small a word; so big and so small a thing. Is mine worth living, I wonder, as I stand here; time behind, future ahead, gun in my hand.
And before you start telling me to cheer up or stop moaning or whatever, it's just a story. I wrote it because I wanted to write it. It does not reflect my personality or mindframe. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Bravo. You've got some talent there, Savia. "Contemplation's Reward" reminds me of one of the introspective parts of EVA for some reason. You know, the weird ones with the train cars and spastic imagery. That's not a bad thing though, I liked it. Interesting twist at the end of the first story too. It's nice to see another aspiring author out there.
I'd consider posting some of my stories on the boards, but they're far too long. The shortest is about 6 pages.

Who knows what fires burn in the souls of others, or what burdens weigh upon their hearts?

Hey, try it out! If nothing else, I'd be willing to give them a try.Gaikotsu wrote:Bravo. You've got some talent there, Savia. Savia: If you're really interested, I suppose I could try PM'ing one to you. I don't know if there's a size limit on those or not though. The one I'm planning on sending is around 9 pages or so, double-spaced. I'm not sure how long that would be in the PM format, but if you want to read it, let me know. It's a horror story with a definite Lovecraftian influence, perfect for Halloween.
