Need advice on spending some cash

so if you had between 100 and 150 bucks to start out your very first collection. (I have a Comp, but no TV in my room, just so you know.) What would your advice be in my selection of anime titles and places to buy them and such?

I'd get one of the many recently released box-sets. They're cheap and conveinent. What have you seen already?

The big question I'd like to know is:

I know I am overcomplicating things, but this isn't about what I have seen, it is also about what would be the best selection for AMV creation. If I get movies, then I can get a bunch of animes with great animation and cool footage, but for AMV's I might ba able to make 3 AMV's for each movie, anymore than 3 for a movie and I'll start getting unoriginal and repetitive, but if I get a series then I could maybe pull off 5 or so AMV's, but if I get a box set of a series, well, I wont even have enough money for the DVD drive and there will be no POINT in buying the DVD's.

GIve your money to me. Or more logiocally spend it buying gifts for you family friends or yourself. In the most likly event of you buying something for yourself, get some weed.

I suggest you see how much it will be for a DVD rom first, and then base your decision on what you have left.

Well then I guess that my new question is, what recomendations do you guys have on DVD drives? keep in mind that I need one that can do a decent job ripping anime too.
