Magic the Gathering Rating/ Updates...
My rating has went up quite a bit since the beginning of this year. I was somewhere around 1540. And now I'm up to 1604. That's not to bad. Plus one of my advisaries is still having a hard time defeating The Serra/Shivan Saga. He's been on a major losing streak against and can't figure out how my deck works. See the reason it is called the Serra/Shivan Saga is because I created a deck back in 2001 when 7th Edition came out and then kept on rotating new cards in to keep it in the enviornment ever since then. And now they are reprinting the cards in 8th edition so the saga will live on as long as I have some type of excelleration. Live Long Serra/Shivan!!!

If you are curious about the Serra/Shivan Saga. Check it out www.essentialmagic.com and then search under decks and type in Serra/Shivan. The creator is Black Knight.

8th Edition has been unveiled at www.starcitygames.com. Serra Angel and Shivan Dragon are still there, but Counterspell, Duress, Tranquility and Force Spike aren't. Noteable inclusions in the set are Savannah Lions (2/1 for W), Blinding Angel, Fecundity and a whole bunch of other interesting things. At least one card form every non-Unglued set from Alpha right through to Scourge is in there.
And I'm sorry to say it but a brand new player starts with a rating of 1600. You get an average of 5-6ish per win, hence 1604 isn't so great. But it's better than a whole lot of people.

The Serra/Shivan Saga is going to strive when 8th edition comes out. For it will have the advantage even more with blue weakened. By the way I know 1604 isn't that great but I took another look I was on a big losing streak and went as low as 1501. Then I worked my way back up 1604 with 4 great perfomances at Friday Night Tournaments. And a fair performance at Regionals by going 5 wins 5 loses. Eventhough I went 50/50 the wins counted more because my ranking was pretty low and I competed against some of the best in the area.

No hard feelings. I really enjoy FNM also. 50/50 at Regionals isn't bad- it's a tough field.
Oh, and your deck should be improved by the replacement/supplementation of Serra Angel with Blinding Angel and Shivan Dragon with Two-Headed Dragon, both in 8th.

Sylvan Safekeeper will most likely *never* get a reprint because of its special status. Once per year, the very top players in the world are allowed to compete in the 'Pro Invitational', a tournament made out of strange formats. The winner gets to design their own card for inclusion in a future set. The player also features on the card art. Cards so far are:
Avalanche Riders (forget whose)
Rootwater Thief (Mike Long)
Meddling Mage (Chris Pikula)
Shadowmage Infiltrator (Jon Finkel)
Sylvan Safekeeper (Olle Rade)
Voidmage Prodigy (Kai Budde)
Jens Thoren's card 'Forestfolk', a 2/2 Wizard for 2GU, is due to premiere in the next expansion, Mirrodin. It gives you a land card in your hand when you play it, and lets you draw a card when it dies.

Avalanche Rider pwns...
I'm a land killer theme type of person
Hard to defend against most of the time [save for decks specifically designed to bring land out FAST] And most hordes I deal with using mass murder spells like Breath of Darigaaz or Hurricane or Devestating Dreams. Good shiet. Terminate for any single threats. Then there's Akroma - Angel of Wrath (by far the sexiest designed and powerful creature to date... in my book) Need Silk Lash Spider to deal with the likes of her...
Got card? ^_^
