Unsuccessful conversion

a distant cousin of mine tried to convert me to Christainity today at a family gathering.

he first went through a whole text of god loves you and if you accept jesus then you'll be saved. and then after we get into a theologian debate, he goes on to say that all women are sinners. and he further says taht women are not meant to lead and that role is for men.

well, in the end, Lyrs was only annoyed.

well that is what religon will do to u. and i will not accept a religon till i have solid evidance of a god witch will not happen. i keep arguing with ppl about this aswell but i finaly dicided to just give up becouse they are brainwashed and will not accept that fact that there might be no god or after life that just scares that shit out of them so let them belive what they want they do have that right after all

any ways for me ... i'm kind of agnostic. I think theres a fairly good chance that there is a god, however i think he's either put us on the back burner while working on something more worth wile or he's following the Clockmaker argument.

In case you don't know the clock maker argument is, it's (roughly) that god set up the universe like a clock maker sets up a watch, he started it up and now he's let be to run it's self as it will.

whatever religious texts you follow is your own buisness. If you boil them down msot of teh world religions are basicaly the exact same thing, jsut with varying fine print. Personaly i don't think god cares what you belive in or how you belive. Just don't go and do something really fucking dumb and you should be ok.

Curious: is it a safe assumption that you're a Christian, then?

Okay... I know exactly where he's coming from--could even give you book, chapter and verse. It's one of those verses which is taken out of context and mistranslated and suchness... though the Bible has universal truths, the culture can't be ignored. If you look at the context. Christianity's not so much of a narrow-minded religion as people seem to assume...

i think the most narrow minded ppl are jahobas wittnesses. one of my friends is one and he will not accept the fact that i dont belive in god and his perents dont like me at all they think im evil or something. i dont get it that is my opinin i have the right to it as a person. thay also have no holydays witch is ok i guess becouse i dont really belive in any but they dont even celebrate there bdays witch i think is not right but hey thats what they want to do i say have fun.

That's bullshit! Christians constantly change the meaning of Bible verses to make them sound right, even when there's plenty of scientific evidence to disprove every last word. For example, God forming man in His own image was meant to be a straight-forward explaination that our physical forms are near-identical to God's. However, when evolution came around, and science proved the Bible wrong, Christians tweaked the meaning of this phrase to mean "the human soul is based on God's sentient form".

Frosted flakes are notorious for using all kinds of under-handed tactics to get what they want. The only difference between them and the ragheads, is the fact they're too gutless to blow anyone up who disagrees with them. Instead, they just annoy them to the point their victim converts just to shut them up.

These fuckers use intimidation, threats of emotional and physical harm, along with hazing, peer pressure, and drugs to force you to join. In the case of the national Christian meeting I attended, the non-believers (like myself, who went along just to kill time with their "friends") were forced to spend the night in cabins with homosexual roommates, who were a little too horny for their own good. I'm glad I had my trusty self-defense weapon with me (a 15" drop-forged steel crescent wrench), otherwise I would've been pinned behind my car, while those faggots checked my exhaust.

I say we purge America of every last one of those goddamn Christian bastards. Ship them all over to Guantanamo Bay, fill the cell blocks with automatic weapons, and place your bets!
