Does anyone here know the company MAC - Manga Anime Cartoon, they made a DVD box set of 8 dvds with the first 53 episodes of DBZ, and i bought it off of ebay. Nothing the seller said would lead me to believe that this wasnt a licensed box set... and these first 53 episodes were the ones made by Pioneer, then later taken by Funimation. is the company that sold these DVDs to me illegal?

I bought the Love hina HK DVD's before i knew what a bootleg version was (a while ago) so i have every intention of making them legal, when i have the money of course, besides, throwing the legal/moral debate aside, HK dvd's SUCK, the translations are sometimes afwul (sometimes not too bad but its a coin toss) and i find the sub titles are TOO low on the screen, its hard to watch the thing AND read the subs, so I just ripped them and subbed them myself using good subs,
however if owning a R2 dvd is legal in the R1 area, then
is modifing ur DVD player to be reigion free illegal?
