Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

You could still use IE just for uploading... Or you could get FireFTP or Filezilla

FTP wont work in FF.

that guide should work fine so long as you use IE. otherwise go download FileZilla.

as for criticism, you really don't have to listen to anyone, myself included. You aren;t going to find a lot of friendly help it's always been that way. was that way when i was editing 7 years ago. yes, its out there, but don't get mad when you don't find it right away or disown the community because of it. Generally i think most people are helping, but it comes out in way that it's very helpful. (example: myself. I made a very short post saying i disagreed with kyle's opinion and gave it a 2/5. i probably should've posted a little more, but at the time i just wanted to post an opinion that disagreed with the majority because i felt you were being misguided to think the video doesn't need any work. and hey, it made you ask me why i gave it to you :P).

like i said before, i completely disagree with the "no excuse" bit. everyone starts off differently and just because someone's first video is lacking in some aspects doesn't mean they should be flamed for it. my first video wasn't all that great.

You've gotten plenty of good criticism. Just ignore it though, because you'll obviously get better either way right?

wrong.

2/5 seems to be about right.

I can see some effort, the mood was captured in a few places... but it was all over the place. You forced the lyric sync at times (which killed the mood), orphan frames, strange cuts, fansub source footage... you've got some work to do.

Your scene selection was from ALL over the place, the video didn't have a consistency to it, it didn't really tell the story I think you might have been going for. I mean, you started with Renton's story, threw Anemone and Dominic in at the end, Holland was somewhere doing stunts in the middle... It felt very very unorganized. I could tell (from the title alone) that if all you're going to try to do is "put this anime to this music" it's probably going to fail. Still, its not a 1, I gotta respect the excellent anime choice(false respect, this means nothing =P), and the parts that (even though they lacked continuity) attemped to both tell a story and fit in with the music.

I mean I believe there was a time wen everyone was starting out and there AMV's were so-so/bad...so how's about cutting me some slack cause I know just as you all did when you were making your first that a year from now you AMV's would be 10 times better.I thought this was a friendly community...
Don´t worry. I guess the majority makes bullshit at the first time. It´s just dumb to make a mistake twice.
