Thanx Yukinon-chan when i first thought about this amv the Taira and Ryusuke playing back to back was first thing that came in mind. I do admit that the instruments could have been synced better, but it was waaaaaaaay more difficult than i thought it would be especially since i never made a video like this before and ive never touched a guitar..... well unless you count guitar hero.

fyi nerdstrudel there was no clip on this amv that was merely randomly thrown in with the instruments in some of the scenes I actually sped up or slowed down some clips to get them somewhat close to playing what they were supposed to. I think it would have been impossible to sync every possible guitar, bass, and drum considering that in the anime then never play this song and also my current skill level.

but i do agree about the borders bit, i did that because i didnt want to cut out some of the picture in those scenes...... thats the price you pay for using fansubs

thanx for your input.

using keyframes was my "futile" attempt at avoiding some of the syncing

Doesn't matter about your skill level, you should still be able to cut and replace clips on top of speeding and slowing to make it looks good.. It just LOOKED like you didn't even try is what Iwas saying.

well correct me if i'm wrong or if there is a different way, but the only way that I think that i could have possibly made the instruments sync with the music seamlessly that aren't at all related to each other is either a. cut, replace, speed up, or slow down, etc. the footage on a frame by frame basis. or b. cut a ways : cut to the instrument then cut to the instrumentalist or something else. I opted for the cut a way because if i were to attempt to do it frame by frame I would have been posting this video maybe a year from now.

You may have been posting the video a little ways away from this date but you would get much better reviews, no?

also.. Combine both A and B methods :O

Yeah, I guess it depends on wha tyou're satisfied with

If you wanted to get a good synch no matter how long it took you then you'd do it, and the final result would be much better. But if you just wanted to finish, you use anything that looks kind of good, even if it isn't totally synched.

Ok I looked at my video again many times and i don't really think that it's poorly synced at all. I wouldnt say that its 100% synced, the only parts that I saw that could use a few touches were ryusuke and koyuki guitar shots. other than that I don't see any other syncing issues. what parts are you talking about and do you know of any amvs with excellent instrument syncing?
