Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Hmmm. Honestly I really didn't like it, but I will tell you how to possibly improve it.

In the beginning there's a lot of beats you could have hit. You don't have to hit all of them if you don't want to, but to maintain some type of flow it's good to at least hit the most definitive ones consistently. When the lyrics kick you're open to a lot of possibilities. You could still hit the definitive beats but make your scene selection fit the songs lyrics. Or you could go along with the words/syllables

Ex.

So-you-found-out-today-your-life's-not-the-same. Not-quite-as-perfect-as-it-was-yesterday.

Each dash represents where you might want to cut or do an effect. You could always do every other word to slow it down a bit if it's too fast. Or, to make it faster you could go by the syllables, it really just depends what you're going for in the video.

I myself couldn't really tell what you were shooting for. It just seemed like music to fights you liked in the series. I couldn't feel a definite connection between the footage and music. Since you're just starting off though I would worry more about creating a good flow and then work your way towards more advanced areas. Just practice it by yourself, don't worry about uploading it unless you're just going to send it to others to get an opinion.

Also another thing to work on is an annoying thing in WMM that's not your fault. At 2:35 for a split second you see a clip before the one you wanted. An easy way to fix that is to just trim the beginning of the clip a little and it'll get taken care of. I know it may not bug some, but for others it's really distracting.

Since a lot of things go unnoticed in real time, it's a good idea to export what you've got from time to time and see if there are any errors that can be fixed. WMM may suck, but as long as you're patient you can create some pretty decent work.

Good luck with future videos.

 It'd actually be quite funny if he synced every one of those.

I do get your point though, I think I got the best flow from cuts at "your-life, not-quite, and was-yesterday" You could show flashbacks for rock lee of when he first realized how overwhelming everything was. I guess the point I'm trying to make is to take one storyline and run with it, like shadow said.

Also:
but tell me what you all think, not ask me what i think about my own vid
Whenever I've finished playing a piece for my music instructor of 10 years, I'm asked "so what did you think about it." The most important thing is that you can see what you made yourself objectively. It's always best to criticize your own work first, it just really drives everything home. And if you do look at it really objectivly, you may see some things you might not have noticed before.

Uh I dont think he ever said it was good.
You don't post something you know is downright bad. well, unless you're board as heck.

@Alucard: That's actually a pretty good reason. And for the record, I don't think it was downright bad, infact, I loved the part from 1:15-1:20. I do think however, that it probably wasn't ready for release. Maybe if you'd just spent one or two more days extra to improve sync or remove subtitles. I may be picky because I've made a rock lee video to this song before, but it needs alot of work. Time and effort won't mean anything if the results don't back it up. That said, keep trying. You seem mature enough to not get disappointed.

Wow....A Naruto vid that actually got a decent bit of discussion or non-sarcastic advice, and on the ORG too.

To the bunker?

Everything came from nothing, therefore everything is nothing.

There's nothing to worry about.
