Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Brad wrote:In all honesty, I wanted to like this video more than I did. As you guessed, I love the song. Sigur Ros is my favorite band and this is one of my favorite songs of theirs. So you get immediate brownie points for having great taste. And even though it's become very over-used, I still do like 5 Centimeters Per Second. There were several parts of the video that I did enjoy, but overall there were just too many cuts that felt out of place or random. I'm not saying that every single beat of the song needs to be timed to. I think you can do creative and impactful editing without always sticking to those conventions. However, there is such a thing as flow, and for a lot of the video, the flow kept getting broken up. I commend your efforts and look forward to seeing more stuff from you, but as far as this video goes.... eh :\ I just couldn't bring myself to really grasp onto it.
Yeah, I know what you mean... Thanks though, I'll try to improve that from now on. But on the contrary, I do actually believe that there is a good and apparent flow in my video, and almost every cut is timed for a reason. Perhaps we are just perceiving it in different ways. The video is also filled with a huge amount of meaning, and the part leading up to its climax should be obviously meaningful to anyone who has seen the movie. Though there are parts of it that I do admit do seem out of sync with the flow, I feel the majority of it is timed well.
