You were right, there doesn't seem to be any meaning in this video at all. Not sure how the scenes flowed with the audio either. Great music tho, and well, it was SM...

That was by far the strangest scene selection I've ever seen in an amv.

That was indeed extremely strange as far as scene choices go, and really the same for editing choices. There is plenty of internal sync but it never patterns and that's why the lack of flow that ngsilver mentions. But for an AMV without any structure, that was actually strangely enjoyable, and I'm really not sure why.

Well, I'm not sure if that's necessarily a good excuse. You might have a style, but I think there's some basic things that will only get you so far. Synching a particular scene to a particular musical note is good, but only to the point where it becomes obvious that it's really not patterned. Your edits and scene selections are strange, but not because of style - arbitrary selections and edits aren't really a style. Ultimately they hurt the flow of the video and really don't do anything outside fairly banal timing sync, which is actually not that hard to do in the end. It's not a style, it's just a very basic method of editing that does very little besides basic timing. Anyone can do this.

On the other hand, if you plan your editing a bit better, you have a much better palette for leaving the viewer with an impression, and if you lay out your edits in an organized way, you get a sense of flow that is so essential for action editing to stand out. It's through organizing your editing that you develop a personality and style to your videos. You can easily ignore these things, but if you do you'll really limit yourself in terms of what you can do with your editing.

So don't write this off to style. Take the feedback and think further than just elementary, one-off timing.

Thanks for the input.

Since I found out in FAQ that "‘Anime’ here is essentially defined as Japanese animation, including things like cutscenes from Final Fantasy games and so on..." I will post my Parasite Eve and Parasite Eve II videos. But that will be after a week because of forum rules :(

this one has some bad deinterlacing/inverse telecine applied. blurry scenes. I think it is great, except for this reason.

Beats the pants off of my very first video! :)

Regardless of whether or not this has a plot, I still enjoyed this. The ending through me off guard a little and I agree with what everyone else has said so far, but you have good potential. ^_^ Keep at it!
