La Cucaracha Dance - fun/dance AMV
Hi,
Here is my new video I created for the AMV contest at Sakuracon 2009 Hungary.
The video was premiered on the con (may 16 2009), and won the audience's award. It's a little dance/fun AMV, nothing serious. Although the anime I used is very popular, I choose a song that's quite unknown (no, it's not the classic "La Cucaracha", it's a dance song with a different tune).
Anime: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star
Music: Hot Banditoz - La Cucaracha Dance
Try it if you have some time. Any (reasonable) comments welcome, be it good or bad.
Thanks in advance,
Moha

I would like to thank your "contentful and building" comment on behalf of the editor For better understanding of Hungarian audience and the weight of the award coming from the audience you should know some basic info first:Knowname wrote:It's tough to make a Suzimaya/ Lucky Star vid that doesn't have writing all over it lol... - Hungarian audience at our Cons is laic (literally)
- audience which really practices its right - voting - is composed of mainly from shounen and yaoi fans (mostly underaged, 12-16 yers old girls) [Hype, hype you know...]
- overally, laic audience has no any experience on AMVs to form a normal opinion
- there is continuous conflict between this laic audience and the hungarian AMV editor community and the local anime fandom.
Hope you got a little insight. By the way I would recommend some from the hungarian Top 20 AMVs to have an insight on the contestant videos (you can find them here, just search on the title or nick):
BEST ACTION : trisa - Colours
BEST DRAMA: siristvan - Dreamfall
BEST OTHER: Yaaku - Eviscerated Butterfly
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some favourites were also for me:
Yashiro - Path to the Future - Changing Conditions
Andyme - Epilogue
Lumiere - Drones

lol! So you basically crafted this amv to fit the audience' expectations. lol good job there! or perhaps I should say you sent this amv to the con that would like it the most lol. Overall a good effort I give you that.

I see this getting a con crowd to go wild.
Very cute and enjoyable. The editing was cute, the footage was very high quality and I'll have this song in my head for the rest of the nice. Muchas gracias for that one. =|
Definilty a keeper for me. Everybody should check this one out.

This was surprisingly good! High visual quality, creative text works. Just make sure to use not so used footage next time and you'll make something epic ^_^ 4/5.

Yes, that's true, I know. They tend to applaud for the anime used rather than the AMV itself. But anyway, you were one of the judges who got my video among the top20, so it mustn't be that bad.luggeriano wrote: - Hungarian audience at our Cons is laic (literally)

I get motivated from achivements more than from appreciation. My only goal was to get in the top 20. I know that audience's award is not much, but still, I'm glad that I got it.
Yup, they were, I have taped it.Code wrote:I see this getting a con crowd to go wild.
Thanks. I try to improve with every AMV I make. I almost etirely used HD quality footage for this AMV. My next plan is a multiple-anime AMV, with a story to tell.Aggressor wrote:This was surprisingly good! High visual quality, creative text works.
