I understand about studying, so good luck. However, it is no trouble. If you wish to ask me about how to say anything before you make a post, please do so.niwatori wrote:Thank you for a kind proposal.
But I am sorry, but will refrain from the suggestion.
Because it will be made a good study for me and troubles you in various ways.

Re: MEP - Crossover
Overall I'm pretty surprised at the reactions to this video; it seems like the usual things editors might complain about don't seem to be present in this thread, so if I have to be the one to do it I guess that's okay.
The first thing I would like to comment on is the use of VideoCopilot-esque effects in this video, as well as the TV stock at the beginning of the video and present at the end. To me it's always more enjoyable to see an editor start from the ground up, and with an effect like that it couldn't really hurt. It's just some TV garbage. So I'd say you don't HAVE to, but personally I think it would be more satisfying to see a more original distortion/TV static effect, rather than a piece of stock footage slapped on with a hue rotation.
Your video quailty: Good in some tracks, sub-par in others. I understand your wanting to release this in 720p, however I happen to know that the release of the Hellsing OVA series in bluray won't happen for another two to three months; so instead of waiting for a true 720p release of something, you upscaled, which is a bit of a no-no. It again indicates a certain urgency this video was made with, which I don't like. It wasn't well thought out on a technical level, or an editing one.
As far as the tracks they weren't bad overall, they just felt a little bit spontaneous and disconnected from one another. The second track was easily my favorite because it took a small sidestep from mainstream anime, unlike the rest of these sources. I also felt like this track was the least overdone; both the soul eater track and even the 5cm track were very over-produced for my eyes. The motion in those tracks was just too much to cram into such a short period of time, and maybe could have used a little bit of cleaning up in some spots to make it more visually appealing and just easier on the eyes.
This video is very close to whats wrong with most editors in visual form; they don't think about how their video is going to look when it's watched. You just look at the timeline and edit something cool, instead of watching your preview window to see where the smooth parts are and what might need some cleaning up. And when you do that, you get videos like this. They're tough to watch, over-produced, and in some places just plain nasty to look at.
I have to go with a 2.5/5 on this one; it felt rushed, poorly planned, and it's difficult to watch without that subtle feeling creeping up that you've seen it all before a thousand times over in any other action video.
tl;dr Video was kitsch.

Re: MEP - Crossover
I really enjoyed this MEP, but I do agree with Reda about some of the aspects such as the Video Copilot roaming around in the video.
Though, Video Copilot bothers me in general so it really wasn't a big factor in my enjoyment of the video.
I liked most of the tracks (especially the 5cm and Soul Eater tracks), but the only one that left me a little disappointed was the Hellsing track.
Anyways, I hope you guys make another MEP because I know it will be better.

Re: MEP - Crossover
That was awesome, looooooooooved the 4th and 5th tracks the most out of this whole thing.
The second track was cool until :59-1:16 and I couldn't tell what the hell was going on...my eyes couldn't catch up to that speed =P.
To be honest the 3rd track was a much appreciated breather after that final half of the second track.
Again great work
