Houkago Tea Time - Sleeping In My Car
EDIT:
I have made a new version of this video. It adds 17 seconds to the end and has some minor lipsynch fixes to original version. Scene selections and other directorial decisions and (lack of) effects remain the same as original.
All download (DIRECT, DIRECT, LOCAL) links contain v2.0 of this music video since I see no need to keep the original available as nothing was removed or reordered - only fixed and added.

Re: Houkago Tea Time - Sleeping In My Car
The editing was well done. Smooth cuts without an overuse of effects. The end-cut of the song at 1:47 felt too jarring, like it was in the middle of a chorus. I'd suggest a smoother ending or a different edit of the song.

Well i know this song (and Roxette) since my early childhood and really like it so i kinda expected a bit more of this. Overall it was ok, but lipsynch was some sometimes way to much off - you could have made more out of the first 30 seconds than only this boring live-performance - and also overall less lipsynch/live stuff and more of the car/nature-scenes would have fit the song much better.

HanoFist: "...like it was in the middle of a chorus."
I think it is in middle of a chorus. The problem was, if I didn't cut it there, I would have had to fade it out without any ending. Well, maybe a fade out would have been better than an abrupt ending.
At the end of the chorus the instruments used didn't really match the end of the song so clipping material from between would sound even funnier even if it wasn't in middle of chorus. And using the song as whole (3 and half minutes) would have been too long for me to find material to fill in... without reusing excessively. 2 minutes of reused clips might be a bit too much (i.e ENOZ feat KMFDM like).
[EDIT: luckily, I was wrong. I did found another place to clip the track from, this time resulting in quite smooth end, without adding whole 2 minutes worth of recycle. It was a tight fit, as if the vocals after the chorus would have started a split second earlier, the possibility to cut the track would have been ruined.]

Raping your childhood is what I do best. :3
"lipsynch was some sometimes way to much off"
You could be more specific about "sometimes". It probably is, I can't deny it, because there was so much of vocals to synch, and K-ON's animation on singing is not just the typical 3-frame (mouth closed, mouth half-open, mouth open) kind. The only clear mistake I've noticed so far is in 01:37 timestamp, as I intended to let Mio sing that line solo but ended having word "car" lipsynched to both singers (and not accurately lipsynching it to Yui either as I didn't lipsynch it but rather forgot to block her mouth movement at that point). It must have passed by my QC because I focused my attention on checking Mio. And I did probably check the video 20 times before releasing but I tend to get blind on my own mistakes as I continue to pay attention to what I wanted viewer to pay attention to and not on what they might be paying attention to (i.e I see the video through director's eyes). Which is why I tried to get someone else to beta view it instead ...
Still, calling it "way to much off"[sic] makes me think that I might have made a mistake in directing and letting Mio sing that line solo. Viewer might expect them to sing duo and call it "badly synched". Also, the scenes in the desert use some still shots. They were still from the source and I decided to retain them as they are, not adding any synch to their lips.
[EDIT: found a few more scenes where lipsynch was off. Most of them are now fixed.]
"you could have made more out of the first 30 seconds than only this boring live-performance"
I prefer to start boring and try to improve from there and not make the beginners mistake of flattening out completely before half-way of the video. The first 20 seconds is pretty much an intro.
"...and also overall less lipsynch/live stuff and more of the car/nature-scenes would have fit the song much better."
If there were more of car scenes in K-ON (but there isn't as it's not a road trip anime), I would have used them. Not because I wanted to increase ratio between car scenes and singing but because I would have liked to make it much longer. A road trip AMV wouldn't be bad either, if I only knew a series that had enough driving (not including illegal street racing (Wangan Midnight or Initial D) or car chases (too many to count)) and not just limited to an onsen or umi special episode or two [EDIT: that just happens to include a short driving trip]. But I guess there's a serious lack of those series in anime, as "freedom" of owning a car and travelling thousands of miles from coast to coast with a gasolene hungry V8 powered car is an American-exclusive value and privilege, as gasolene costs much more in most other parts of the world... plus the fact that most of the countries have quite a bit smaller dimensions than US of A.
Edit: just noticed this is my 69th post. In the Summer of 69~
Maybe I should try Beck & Bryan Adams or something like that next... moar live animu concerts. Beck's OP also would suggest there might be material for making a road trip AMV. Don't know until I see Beck, though.

Re: Houkago Tea Time - Sleeping In My Car
I understand you were having trouble finding footage and I don't know the song to give a specific change. Say your current song is all one chunk - verse1, chorus1, verse2, half of chorus2 and then cut. Perhaps you could have used something like verse1, chorus1, verse3 and cut. Maybe verse3 has lyrics you can match to non-concert scenes, and you can add all of chorus4 too. Something where you're editing the song the way you edited the video. That way you still get only enough audio you have clips for without that harsh mid-chorus ending.
Well, this is just my opinion, and at this point probably a suggestion for your future videos. In any event, I liked the vid.

Pretty much but not exactly. I did include few last seconds of the song. :p
The song actually goes like this:
intrumental intro, verse1, verse2, chorus, verse3, chorus, chorus, verse4 (short), instrumental part, chorus, chorus, shortened chorus
The song's structure is quite a bit more complex than it sounds. Because it inially sounds pretty darn simple but when you want to cut a few verses and choruses from the middle. The used instruments in the background also change so if I just clip anything from anywhere, it's to be heard that it was altered. I might try to make a full-length version of this as well. Maybe including a minor fixes to already edited part but nothing big. I'll just have to find a way to double the length of footage or rework existing ones in a way it doesn't feel repetitive. Opening sequence has good footage too, but it'd take an eternity to frame-by-frame remove all the credits as the DVD creditless extras aren't available yet...

Re: Houkago Tea Time - Sleeping In My Car
Bumping this thread to tell that a LOCAL download is now available and that file has most of the lipsynch issues fixed (I found a few more those I mentioned in this thread). Also: no abrupt end cut for the song. Instead of full-length, I added only 17 seconds, just enough to make a smooth end to it. And luckily I found some new applicable footage so I didn't have to recycle much for the added seconds.
Enjoy, and give feedback. Mau-mau :3

Nice! A much smoother ending to the music now. I noticed the different lip synching: The biggest improvement from what I remember of your first version was 1:35-1:39 with Mio in the background matching much better.
Any suggestions/critiques you might have on my first AMV (Fat Man Swings thread) are welcome as well.
