Re: [4PP] Colours Of An Omen
Sorry it took so long to get back to you on this one, I've had a lot of betas to review and a lot of great vids this week. xD
Anyway.
The Good:
1) Some of the best rainbow coloring effects I've seen in an AMV. I certainly hope that isn't a preset in some software I'm not familiar with, because it look REALLY professional and really sharp and awesome. [Of course, some of the coloring with the straight lines overlaid with low opacity was distracting, I was talking more of when the whole scene was colorized]
2) The sync in the opening was top notch. It could have VERY seriously been an alternate opening to Death Note that a professional anime company would have used. Me and my AMV buddies all agree too. ;up:
3) Visually stunning and audio quality was just as good.
1):55 The AMV fell apart for me and my buddies here. The strobe color was seizureific, and the TV screens effect was counter intuitive to the video's overall feel at the beginning. And the last scene without color really threw me for a loop, and I was shocked at the end title. The font was too simple, lacked color or the feel of the rest of the video and kind of was just a WTF feeling for me.
2) Conceptually, Death note has been done to death, and this kind of followed the same creepy feel and used the frequently used scenes.
Overall, it was a pretty awesome attempt for a first video, definitely above the average around here.
4/5

Re: [4PP] Colours Of An Omen
This was very well done! I like the idea of the use of the colors, though I found myself disliking the continuously flashing colours bit.
It went from portraying nicely multicolored scenes, to a seizure. xD It was a well executed effect, but I found it a bit much.
Otherwise, nice work.

Re: [4PP] Colours Of An Omen
just try watching this on a `22 screen
c`mon, i dare ya
but then again, build-up lasted too long ,you shouldve cut the first min of the song in half, you know like, just for balance
awesome colors and stuff, but man that vegas tv simulator did not fit
loved the beginning though, good idea with the text, but it somehow felt like it could`ve been better (imo), maybe if you wouldve used some blending modes with it, maybe set to overlay ,iunno
good job nonetheless

Re: [4PP] Colours Of An Omen
Not bad
Generally I will say the same things like the others. Great job with colorizing tv sim looks odd. Well sometimes even colorizing was irritating me... I saw a lot of strips on that color layers that I could consider as a interlace, but probably it's not , for me it doesn't look so clean, just it.
About the text at the end, my reaction was the same as Code wrote: WTF ... it's some misunderstanding...
Sync was generally quite good, but ofc could be better
Death Note - overused
ee... theres no point to rewrite what was said, so i just finish here
for me -4/5
Good luck with a future projects

Re: [4PP] Colours Of An Omen
This was great for a first vid here...
But i didnt like it otherwise, everyting just became a tad to much...
Like the text was great the first 2-3 times, but then it became irritating instead! The same goes for the colors, they were not blended good enough!
Sometime less is more!

Re: [4PP] Colours Of An Omen
Cant say too much that hasnt already been said. I thought that it was a great first video to be added to the org. Other than what has been stated, I think that you used the intro and credits scenes a bit much, taking up about 1/3-1/2 of the video. That, plus what has been said.Over all, it was a good amv with some minor things that I think could be improved. I would say like a 3.75 rating.
