The footage wasn't slowed down, although there are held frames if that's what you are referring to (the sword flying up).

I like this song, usually this kind/gender is perfect for suckass amv, yet this video was a pleasure to watch, it lost its way on "slow" parts, just because I didn´t like how the speed-up scenes looks :/ when music is more "melodic" 2:40-2:58
