[First AMV ever!] Yuki Belong With Me

Post by dyzzy » Mon Jun 21, 2010 12:18 pm

S as in Studio Productions presents:

So, as the title says, this is my first AMV. I came up with this idea about half a year ago but didn't have time to work on it due to school. I promptly forgot about it, and then I randomly remembered about it one day when looking at the Otakon website and decided to make it and submit it to the Otakon AMV contest... with only 1 week until the deadline. :awesome:

The original idea was inspired by "The Harassment of Kyon" and is supposed to be a continuation: Kyon and Itsuki are now boyfriend/girlboyfriend, but Yuki thinks that Kyon belongs with her. It was originally imagined as a comedy, but as I kept working on it, it just became serious. :?

So, comments and critiques please! Rip me a new one!

Watching it now.

/The cell phone in the beginning was on for too long; same thing with :48-1:04. That whole Nagato vs. Koizumi was cool yet pretty random. And the end scene felt a little off timing, just the feel. Too much lip flap.

/Liked the guitar part, I'm a sucker for music sync. Nice scene choice most of the time. Funny character selection. You have a good feel for beat. Overall, a great first AMV, haven't seen a first this good in a long while. I can't wait to see whatever else you make in the future.

5 times........that's the number of times that I died of laughter while watching this AMV  . I didn't read the video description, so I wasn't expecting this at all. I give it 5/5 stars. My god, I haven't had this much fun watching a AMV in a very long time. Some of the scenes were a little long and could have been improved (especially the ringing cell phone scene at the very beginning), but overall, this was a really good. Congrats on completing your first AMV. Oh and, the scenes from 1:54 - 2:18 were epic. I highly approve

Edit: did you intend for this AMV to be so funny? Its actually a nice romance video as well.......which is probably what you wanted it to be

I actually wanted it to be a comedy at first, so I guess mission accomplished. :o

Cool concept and pretty well executed for a first. You should work on video quality though - Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides Lovingly Overhauled Largely by Zarxrax, it can be very helpful in that regard.

I'm glad you guys like it. :P Like I said, I only had 1 week to make the whole video, so I'm well aware of most of the flaws. (I really like the cell phone part, but it's the one scene that seems to get complaints :( ) I'm planning the remake this to fix some things, specifically video quality (I have the season 1 DVDs but didn't have time to rip them, and I'm planning to get the season 2 DVDs as soon as they're released in the US). Also, I'm planning to add some scenes from the movie when it comes out on DVD. Finally, I plan to learn and use Premiere instead of Windows Movie Maker (if you couldn't tell from the file extension).

I'm not sure yet what my plans for the future are. I'm not exactly a creative guy, the idea for this video was originally a joke I didn't intend to follow up on. But I guess it turned out fairly well so who knows?

This seems famililar. XD

The end with the computer screen was about one of the most ADORABLE things I've seen in a while. :D

Meanwhile, I think some better scene selection planning would have benefitted the video some more, with more empahsis on the beat of the song. As is, the scenes lasted far too long.

But as a concept and as an AMV, it was fairly cute, and I got my fair share of chuckles out of it. :D
