Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Open Hearted (Romance)

Post by animedays » Tue Jan 18, 2011 1:17 am

I know I only pop my head in once or twice a year these days. Bad me. Should come around more often, always find useful info here. I hope that everyone finds it at least a little enjoyable. I did work very hard on this. I'm lazy (rather tired of typing), so I copied and pasted my video description:
My real first stab at a true romance video. Edited in WMM.

I put weeks into this, and I hope that it shows. There was a lot of quickly having to "rewatch" older series, and a lot of thought into scene placement. Every tear, every blink, hug, kiss, cherry blossom, and even streaks across the sky --- I worked hard to sync it to even the smallest hints in the music. I hope that some of it shows through.

I wanted a video full of emotion: love, hope, sadness, loss, wistful, and yearning. I hope that at the end of the video people want to hug or kiss someone, or at least emotionally took something from the video. Whether or not I succeeded, I'm not sure. It's hard because I know the context around the scenes in the anime, and in the video most are taken out of context. In the end, I hope it feels powerful even if the anime vary, and the characters vary

I also wanted to span a wide time frame of anime: old and new. There were so many more I wanted to include: Kenshin, Ranma, etc, but as it is, it's kinda full ;)

Absolute truth is objective, but in reality truth can only be viewed as subjective through our own personal perspectives.

Huzzah for using old school anime that I adore - FY, Ceres, etc. Also for use of Earl and Fairy.

I quite liked it. It was a bit long, but seeing some of my faves made it worth the watch. The fangirl in me is happy. XD
