Sin with a Grin (Deadman Wonderland AMV)

Post by nyunyuelf » Thu Jun 23, 2011 12:08 am

This video is my 11th AMV and WHAT A PAIN-IN-THE-ASS!!! My software messed up SEVERAL times during it's production, so finally, after having enough, I ported the project to W.M.M. It took me nearly two hours to sync the audio back the way I had it, and all-in-all, there are STILL timing issues. This is my first AMV not using just OP/ED. I put a LOT of effort into it (well, til' the end when I got a wee bit lazy) so I hope you enjoy!!

Also the song kinda stops abruptly after the last scene (sorry)..not a lot of effects; just some general editing. There IS lip-sync, but not in every scene. I noticed a particular mistake close to the end that kinda miffs me (went way too fast and looked out of place).

The anime / song contamination is really good and has a lot of potential. I think that you just need to improve your editing skills a bit. This song requires lots of hard cuts and beat syncs, so a lot of your scenes seemed too long. And your scene selection really slowed down the pace of the video. Also, you didn't really take advantage of how well the lyrics of the song match the anime. As a fan of Deadman Wonderland, I can think of so many scenes that you could have used to better express the lyrics.

I think that the amv is probably the best example of the pace that your amv could have had.

Don't get discouraged tough. Just keep trying :D

Just watched the one you were talking about and it was AWESOME!! I don't know if I have the skill to do all that, but it definitely makes me want to try harder. Shows me how much of a noob I really am. Thanks for the critique and compliments :awesome:

Don't worry about it. We all start somewhere. The more you sync with the music the better. Trying to hit every beat is sometimes a good thing when it's done creatively.
