I did really like the beginning though.

Manga? Maybe.. never really thought of it like that. The biggest reason why I avoided motion was that there's so much precise sync going on that motion (especially since it's animated) looked really awkward to me. Keeping the sync together and smooth was like having to deal with a house of cards. Could I have incorporated a lot more motion into this? Probably, but I was cool with freeze frames.Hagaren Viper wrote:I couldn't quite get into this either...I didn't mind the effects that much, but the fact that it's mostly screen captures made it feel 'stiff' to me and I kept waiting for the characters to actually move [Pans and zooms aside]. There was a bit of actual video played, but I almost feel like this would have been more interesting as a manga music video.

And here I thought Alice managed to fix some repetition and sophistication issues that I had in GP Sorry it didn't work for you. I kinda see where you are coming from since the sync/effects heavy approach can cover up everything else. Thanks for the comment.simofc90 wrote:I'm really happy you are back with a new vid.
I watched it and liked for the first part, than the synch and effects became boring and repetitives, distracting me to what the video wanted say. I'm not saying it's a bad video but I admit that I'm a huge fun of your gothic poetry and comparing it with this one, it had an aesthetic more powerfull and just right... it's not a matter of synch, you have this style that is very heavy on the synch of the song, but if in gothic poetry this was right because of powerfull images, the repetition who make some interesting anxiety and some beautifull idea, in this video is only made for itself. Aesthetic is a cut out of images which work not so good, and it's like a noise for the concept of Alice which are very very hidden behind these things even if I consider it a wonderful theme and hiden it was a pity.
That's my opinion considering Gothic Poetry one of the really few amvs which I see perfect.

Think the syncing was a lot with all the effects but nonetheless handle really well and gave it something unique and different.
ThanksAri Iburuhimu wrote:Not a fan of the song but the editing style......Loved it:)
the timing along with the dark/shady atmosphere and the masking made it for me
Didn't even matter that I hadn't seen the anime the overall quality/editing made me keep on watching
