Bittersweet
I've been inspired to make a friendship themed amv ever since I saw Never Fall Apart. I never got around to it until now.
I experimented with a few different techniques while editing, but other than that, it's a pretty basic amv. Obviously some little things here and there that could use work. I hope even if you haven't seen the anime you can enjoy it, but these three's story is a good one, so check out the anime if you haven't already.
HD Preview (timing is a bit off unless you turn on 720p). Local is 480p, HD available at request.

Re: Bittersweet
After watching the video and before actually reading anything about it, i thought it had a bit of a Never Fall Apart (which is up there as one of my all time favorite videos) vibe to it (mostly during the 2:08-2:44 area) . Nice work as always. Would've liked the tempo of the edits be a bit faster but I enjoyed it non-the-less so I can't complain too much (plus I choose to edit on a different tempo then other people would so I'm not really one to judge). Too bad you didn't upload it in time for NDK.

I'm finding a little curious the way that you describe your amvs like something "simple". yet I feel them with so much beauty, girl you're a geniusTaite wrote:it's a pretty basic amv.

Re: Bittersweet
I really really enjoyed this. I love the song and I also love the anime but I never thought you'd put the two together, it's something I can't really visualize myself but I do like your portrayal of it. Your editing has a very gentle style to it, so while the song's tempo is pretty quick and upbeat, I noticed you used quite a lot of slower and more static scenes that help create this calming atmosphere instead which is pretty nice. Because sometimes the stillness you create makes it even more beautiful to watch, since it feels so serene. I also like how you didn't leave out the beat sync completely and more noticeably hit the harder/louder beats which is another positive factor. Oh and great use of blurs and colouring, they look fantastic. But of course my most favourite was the pink glowy text particles you had floating around the edges, perfect fit with the anime and 2:47 where they exploded and floated up in the center was just fabulous.
That's also a really great title you have there too. You didn't exactly pick out the most cheery scenes from the anime but it still managed to put a slight smile on my face. Seriously, it's awesome. I loved it! And keep up the good work! ^^ I always love watching one of your AMVs.

Re: Bittersweet
Solid editing. Solid concept.
Horrible singer.
I would say that was one of the worst singers I've ever heard... but it unfortunately is not.
I tried to enjoy the video because I love Chihayafuru and like I said, the editing was beautiful... the singer just killed it the second they started. ;_;

There are a few spots in there I would have liked to have messed with pacing a bit, but in general I think that's just how I edit :p Thanks Pwolf. And yeah, I know :/Pwolf wrote:After watching the video and before actually reading anything about it, i thought it had a bit of a Never Fall Apart (which is up there as one of my all time favorite videos) vibe to it (mostly during the 2:08-2:44 area) . That first part is a compliment I really appreciate, thank you. (:AimoAio wrote:I really really enjoyed this. Re: Bittersweet
A few rough spots here and there, but concept came through clearly. Curious about the anime now ... not sure what the card game is supposed to be about. Still, the music wasn't really my cup of tea, but fit the video's concept nicely.
Nice job.
Nice job.
