Don't like some overlays, cookie cutters and some transitions but overall is pretty well edited. Good job. :)
Ah also pretty nice banner.

From you, I'll take that as a compliment.

Thank you!
MouseBollocks wrote:I was trying to keep myself from watching this, as I'm halfway through Penguindrum and didn't want to spoil myself, but I couldn't resist it. That was absolutely wonderful. On the visual side, your colouring and compositing was fantastic, and there were a large number of sequences that were absolutely jaw dropping, but moreover, I really like the way you presented the story and concept, and I thought the use of the prelude (Which, I'll admit, I was a little skeptical of at first) was basically the best use that it could have been. Really good job

Now, I really need to get back to finishing Penguindrum...
Oh yes, definitely finish Penguindrum. Thank you very much for your kind words!

It's true... when I watched Penguindrum, I was almost immediately convinced that I would have to make a video using it. I got the same feeling while watching Casshern SIns, so it's only fitting that this is the spirit successor to my Illusion video.

I think the best word to sum this up is "smoooth" :)

Nice job on the technical and artistic aspects of the video. If there was a story to this though, without reading the prelude, and wihtout seeing this series, it went over my head :) Still, the visual alone kept me watching till the end.

Thanks a lot! I was wondering how the video would be perceived... Honestly, it is more an extended metaphor / allegory than it is a story.. The prelude was added in late in the project, but I liked the additional dimension it added to the experience... That being said, I probably could make the "message" a bit less impenetrable (this is something I need to improve on.) All in all, it was a great learning experience for me, and I'm really happy that others are enjoying it as well!

So yea, thanks for the comment!

thats exactly how I felt! This video is so pretentious and awesome at the same time. I'm kinda jealous.

You did a great job Ryan! Although editing this type of vid definitely isn't my style, watching it made me want to step up my game a bit. I actually remember that the last time I felt this way was years ago when I first saw Chiikaboom's Bellicose AMV. You really raised the bar with this one!

I liked the techincal work in this quite a lot. It's really tempting me to edit to the anime. I really dig this and your Illusion video! :]
Lovely job! :]

Much thanks to all of you... this project was quite intensive, so it's great to receive feedback like this :) (though I admit, ALL feedback is welcome)

And I don't want to keep bumping this in perpetuity, so any further responses from this point will either get a very quick reply, or a PM.

K~

lol sorry, I had to say something about this vid. The overlays and the flow was amazing! The technical aspect on making this vid must've been rough but definitely an amv that is worth watching.
