Falcon Wants To Sex Rouge Up!

Post by tuxedomarty » Wed Aug 20, 2014 6:54 pm

I submitted this video yesterday but forgot to add the link. It's up now though.

I can't stand weeaboos and people who keep badmouthing dubbed anime and say it sucks.

Oh well, I don't like the video, ther's no editing at all. To be honest I was just attracted by the title, that seems to be very Gianni. Anyway the metaphore of the icecream is funny.

So what? If I had purposely wanted him to lip sync, I would've checked the lip sync box! But I didn't, because there is no intended lip syncing.

Are you serious? I think you need to watch it again. There's plenty of edits.

I swear to God, so many editors here bitch about such minuscule things that are no big deal that shouldn't determine how good or bad something is! Also, I've seen plenty of music videos for songs from soundtrack albums that show movie scenes with lip flap that don't match the song lyrics that are intercut with footage of the band performing the song that the video is for (here's one example off the top of my head). No wonder one of my friends who's also a video editor left this site. When he posts his AMVs on other places like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, et all, people say it's awesome, but when he posts them here, people either say they hate it or it needs improvement.

As much as you are entitled to show your work on this site, the same goes for the opinions of those that watch your work. It's all fine and everything to not post on this site & say that people like your editing elsewhere. I agree that some people should be a little more gentle with their wording, but you should just take certain comments w/ a grain of salt. If people say you need improvement, ask them what you feel needs improvement. Try and get further information on what people are thinking when they watch your video(s). Regardless of how skilled an editor you are, there will ALWAYS be somebody to criticize your work & find flaws, naturally people are going to TRY to find those flaws rather than watching the video. There are also those that if you ask, will further explain ways to improve yourself, it is up to you whether or not you use their advice. Acting defensive will not help the case. It's perfectly fine to feel really good about your work regardless of what others say. Just make sure you have a positive mind about editing or else you will find yourself not enjoying it.

those are also all casual communities that aren't exclusive to amv as this is. when you post a video in the announcements forum it is subject to critique or input aside from "Cool vid", and not everything will receive immediate praise. this website takes the hobby more seriously than others, and a lot of users here seek more than just a quick piece of entertainment. maybe that's not what you're looking for, though i still don't see why you would dismiss the community as a whole.

Well you can't even count Youtube. These kind of editors just like everything lol. Most of their edits are with useless fx, text, sparkles or just overlays which aren't even needed. Rare to find editors on there who's edits are "alright" in my opinion at least.
To the other places it's again mostly your friends, so ofc they try being a "good friend" and give you some noice critic which is probably useless. Here tho, even if you are a friend, you'll get some serious and good critic which can help you to improve. :bear:

Everyone must be like the mindless drones on social media and give praise or shut their mouths! So say myself!

These kinds of editors you are talking about w/ useless fx, text, sparkles, or unnecessary additions are editing in their own way, while it's fine to voice opinions on those styles, just because somebody uploads edits to Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Org does not mean they are more or less "better" than the other person who uploads on a different site. It all comes down to how the editor feels about their own work. If they feel that they don't need improvement, then they shouldn't have to improve themselves. If they are enjoying themselves then there's nothing wrong with that. If more people actually offered advice based off of their criticism on other editor's work rather than saying "this sucks" "I hate your video" "l2 edit noob" etc.. There would be alot less editors who try to be more like other "popular" editors and alot more editors w/ their own way of editing. Because of this, you see a lack of originality when it comes to videos due to people trying to edit similarly to other editors. Now i'm not saying it's a very terrible thing, just that there's alot more criticism than assisting in this community (amv community altogether). There are most definitely people out there willing to help others that look for it and ask though. Where there are those always out there criticising w/o advice, there are some really great people too.

Not going against your opinion, just further elaborating on it ;P

Are you serious?
Yes I am. I know that probably Francis Ford Coppola is not around, but usually I expect something more.

That's what I always say: size really doesn't matter.
