Evolution (WINNER OF BEST ACTION MTAC) 3 time award winner..
Hey guys Gene here with my newest AMV called Evolution.
This AMV was worked on over the past 5 months. I first heard the song Centuries by Fall Out Boy in November while driving to Nekocon. Ever since then I have been planning and editing this AMV. It has been a lot of fun working on this video using a wide variety of shows. This AMV contains 16 animes the most I have ever used in one AMV.
The video is called Evolution because of how the fighting evolves. Starting out with Samurai, then going to Ninjas and eventually all the way to space battles. However knowing the song is called Centuries and the line "Remember me for centuries" I figured it would be great to use some older anime I guess we can call classics now. Such as Cowboy Bebop, Gundam Wing, Outlaw Star and Samurai X. Then you have some of the newer generation animes in here too. All of which are remember-able.
I've learned a lot while working on this project. I finally started using some new effects and I'm beginning to see new ways to edit my videos that I have not seen before. I'm starting to see what some of the other editors are doing and how they are doing it. However I still believe in using effects to enhance the video not to make the AMV.
This is the first time using Sony Vegas Pro 12, I finally left behind Adobe Premiere 6.0. Goodbye 1999 hello modern day editing tools. Seriously though it was a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to editing more with Vegas.
Anyways I hope you guys enjoy my newest AMV, it has already won 3 awards in the 5 contests it has participated in.
KigaCon 2015 - "COORDINATOR'S CHOICE AWARD"
AICon 2015 - " BEST CONVENTION THEME" (SPACE)
MTAC 2015 - "BEST ACTION"
Also this is my 30th AMV released. It took a while. lol
Enjoy.

I like this concept. Usually when I see AMVs with this song, they editor just focus on one character or group. Would've been great if you put every anime that was used in chronological order based on their time period; Past-Present-Future in that order, so something like DBZ would be the present and be at the middle of the AMV. I did see DBZ, but it was more towards the beginning then it went back to a past based anime I think. Still great AMV though, and congrats on the award(s).

Thanks Otaku. I just got back into editing last year. I felt the urge and desire to make AMV's again like when I first started.OtakuForLife wrote:Decent video, glad to see you still making stuff
Thank you chataolau. I was really trying for more of the Evolution of fighting styles. Going from Samurai to ninja to fighters, fighters with magic. Then body parts transforming into weapons, and eventually into the evolution of the Mechas and into spaceships.chataolauj wrote:I like this concept. I really enjoyed showing all the characters in this AMV as the song could focus on one character. However I felt I could show some of the more iconic anime characters from the mid 90's that I grew up watching and today's anime characters which will be remembered for Centuries.
Anyways I'm glad you guys are enjoying it so far.

Hey there is nothing wrong with old school, sometimes being to flashy will drive the audience away from your video.TritioAFB wrote:Since my comments apparently aren't being sent, I'll repost what I originally posted:
