An Intro To This Forum and the AMVs I have made so far
Hello everyone!
My name is Findread but I mostly just go Finn. I came across this site though GRArkada's use of it in one of his vlogs.
I've been making AMVs for about three monthes now, maybe four and I wanted to get a opinion of them from and audience that knows about AMVs and the such. Please reply with critisms on stuff done wrong, stuff I did right, along with an suggestions for future AMVs.
I'm in the middle of a trilogy of AMVs made for SAO. The third one is in the final stages of editing so thats fun. I have a plan for a big AMV but I'm waiting to get the editing skills to make sure it's perfect.
I edit with Sony Vegas Pro 11.0 with the NewBlue FE Film Effects pack. (Great for making clips look better or more edgy )
Hope you guys enjoy!
Thanks
Finn

<My Dearest (Cover by Sapphire) Sword Art Online (I liked doing this one and it was my first effort. I think I would remove the lyrics and some clips changed.)
<Unravel (Cover by Ryoko) Tokyo Ghoul (Might be my favorite, dunno, was really happy with this one. Loved alot of the clips and syncing.)
<Hysteria (Muse) Sword Art Online (First part of the trilogy and first full song. Alot of good syncing, gutair solo I started to run out of clip ideas, song length can be a bitch.)
<Live Forever (Oasis) Kyoukai no Kanata (Really hard one to do. Love the anime but I don't know the anime that well in terms of clips, I liked the song choice but it's not my best, alot of clips dragged on.)
<My Body Is A Cage (Arcade Fire) Sword Art Online (Latest and greatest. Love alot of the tension and release.)

Welcome!
Totally digging your music taste U: and the release on your body is a cage vid was great. You have good beat and emotional sync, especially for the short time you've edited! My favorite was your kyoukai no kanata oasis vid 0: it had a lot of energy!
Some general tips I would give would be to avoid lip flap (when the characters are talking in a clip and its not synced or related to your vid) and using slight pans and zooms to maintain movement between clips and liven up still clips. Text also can distract viewers, so use it wisely! 0:
Keep it up! You're waaay better than I was >> so i'm super excited to see how you develop and what you'll make next!

Re: An Intro To This Forum and the AMVs I have made so far
Thanks so much for watching!
Funny, of the two people I've asked, they've both said the Oasis one is their favorite, weird, I really didn't like it. I felt like it was very forced.
Anyway, yeah, that is a problem I have with mouth syncing, I'll fix it in the next one.
I'm thinking about limiting text usage, next AMV will only have it during the chorus.
And the zooming I might not do. I don't understand what you mean, if you could illabrate, it'd be aprcatied.
But thanks again! Next AMV will be SAO related, season two. Last part of the trilogy.
Got some ideas and anime download for the next ones. Psycho Pass and Golden Time
Thanks one again!

One tip that I'll give you is to not use such massive text in your videos. Your text kept taking up so much of the screen that it became a really big distraction and was hard to see the footage behind it. Having text made sense for your videos that used covers of anime songs, but I think that the text would have been better if it was much smaller font, the same color, and always located at the bottom of the screen. I didn't really feel that the text was necessary for your "Heart and Soul" video though.
