Concrete Kid
/throws down hat
This was a project from 2012, originally made for a competition to make a trailer, that I wanted to continue but never could because of technical issues. Flashforward to this year and those technical issues were resolved so I was finally able to do so. I probably had about 75% of it done in March but the last 25% took me ages and I've been tweaking it for over 2 months and I'm still not totally happy with it (there's at least one transition I know people will jump on), but I do still like most of the final product and I'm very happy to finally get it out.
I also made some editing faux-pas' in this video--voice overs, subtitles, a clip that runs for 20 seconds without interruption--but hopefully those aren't too damning.
I still don't really know what I'm doing though, so as always feedback & critique is more than welcome.

Re: Concrete Kid
Mhm pretty climatic , , not sure if voices were necessary but i guess they make this thing a little easier to get. As a trailer it felt a bit weird since usually you get stuff like green screen or more "quick" cuts, but i guess it's more for genre I'm used to .

It was alright...definitely could have done without the voiceovers though, I think the video did well enough on its own without them. I definitely enjoyed the editing, but it has practically no rewatch value for me as I didn't really care for the music.

I dug it. Has that epic trailer feel to it. As for the voiceovers, I think if you were going to go for them you needed to really go for them like a real trailer would do and just keep it running throughout to enhance the drama, otherwise just drop it. Overall though I liked it.

I definitely switched intentions halfway through editing this, and the voiceovers were a leftover result that I didn't make a clear decision on, so I can see where you're both coming from. Thank you both very much for the feedback!Shin-AMV wrote:I dug it. Has that epic trailer feel to it.
