Re: Gravity Of Love (Enigma/Trigun) [AMV]
Is it just me, or have we gotten a wealth of old school AMVs recently in the best way?
I still strongly associate this song with this Utena AMV:
And it's always hard to get over a strong association like that when viewing another AMV. That said, I thought this was excellent work. Had I seen this video first, it might well have been my strong association. Editing was good, masking was subtle, footage was about as clean as you would expect from source of this age. I don't know that it explores any new territory with Trigun, but I think it is a welcome addition to the Trigun canon, so to speak. All in all a very enjoyable trip down memory lane.

thanks yes I I felt that it did lack a sense of story originality separating it from the series to make it stand out from the rest of trigun amvs however there is the fact that the project file was deleted and so was my copy of the trigon series -sighs-. I felt that I gave up to easilyon this video mostly due to the fact that now Im now lacking the time to edit. if and when i do get started on editing another amv it is a goal of mine to apply a unique story line apart from the one put on the original source anime . thanks for the feedback btw =D.

Re: Gravity Of Love (Enigma/Trigun) [AMV]
There are some series that are so used in AMV history as to be particularly difficult to do something new with. It can be done, of course. And sometimes it isn't necessary. I am not a fan of Trigun (although I don't dislike it either) in the way I am about other series. There are certain series for which I find it difficult to find a newly made video I don't like, unless the editing is actually just plain sloppy. This is especially true for romance videos for a couple of given romantic series. Treading old ground is kind of the name of the game. So as I said, I don't think this video tread any new ground when it came to Trigun, but it was a solid Trigun video in the old school style. I imagine if I was a huge Trigun fan, I'd really appreciate that people are still making these videos twenty years later.Prohibitory wrote: ↑Tue Oct 30, 2018 8:41 pmthanks yes I I felt that it did lack a sense of story originality apart from the series to make it stand out from the rest but the project file was deleted and so was my copy of the trigon series. I know I love that CrackTheSky gave Kimagure Orange Road a watch and made multiple videos with it as a video source. As a KOR fan I appreciated someone would love the series enough to do that (especially a newer viewer).

Re: Gravity Of Love (Enigma/Trigun) [AMV]
I looked at the description on YouTube and it states that it's a beta draft, which makes sense because I felt a lot of the cuts and effects were kind of rough.
You switched between a lot of characters and therefore, upon first watch, it was kind of hard for me to get a real sense of the theme and message you were going for. After watching it a couple times I get the impression that you believe that all the characters fall under the overarching theme of the song itself, or perhaps its all from Vash's point of view and the other character scenes are just a glimpse of his mind reflecting on the people in his life. I'm leaning towards the second as your goal.
Coincidentally enough, I became aware of this song and anime around the same time many years ago and it was funny that you matched them together.
With a bit tighter scene selection and cleaner editing this would have been really great. I enjoyed the overall feel and mood of the AMV, and I thought that the this combo of anime and song was an interesting choice.

This was really well-made and thoughtful.
Felt like something out of 2008/2009 but I mean that in the best way possible.
