AMV Announcement - Hunter x Hunter (Clams Casino I'm God)
First AMV ever, been aching to try one and this quarantine gave me the perfect opportunity. Would love some constructive criticism.
Cheers,

Hello Hotdogvendor,
My first question is : What (is ?) (are ?) the emotion(s) or the message behind your editing ?
I have seen many things : sadness, funny stuff, rhythmic, battles and some kinds of psychedelic .
It was a bit long but since there was so many things, I still don't know how to interpret it all ; so my question : "What did you want to transmit exactly ? Or did you want to try them all ? "
Anyway, another good point is that all of this is not chaotic !

Usually, first AMVs are pretty chaotic or too slow but, because I've seen HxH, I see like what you're doing. You're just having fun playing around with the effects while breaking up different parts of HxH which is pretty cool, imo. I think it's a good first AMV.
Couple of things:
>> The eye transitions were pretty cheesy.
>> Those sharp zoom in & out, though they match the beat, were too strong, I think.
Recommendation:
>> Try to edit like only 1 minute next time just so you can have more scenes to work with in a small timeframe. HxH has a lot of scenes to work with but, if you're working with a 12 episode Anime, 5 minutes is so long for an editor. Plus, you can give yourself more relaxed time to think about how flow works.
I'd recommend practicing with this tutorial, if you have After Effects, and just try making a 1 minute AMV practicing what this tutorial teaches. It may help you out:
But, for a first AMV, I thought it was pretty good imo.
Best,
Brad

This is one of those videos that didn't totally work for me but definitely has a lot of moments in it that I really loved. It's a weird feeling!
You're playing a really dangerous game here with transitions zooming into characters' eyes. Not saying if you pulled it off or not, I'm abstaining from leaving an opinion on that.
I really need to watch this series someday but any series longer than 50 episodes feels like such a daunting task.
For a first AMV this was really good! I even liked the parts that didn't quite work because it was still obvious you were having fun while making this.
Sorry for the useless feedback.
