Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

The title doesn't really seem to serve a purpose other than using other videos' popularity to get attention; I don't see anything in the video that reflects the sentiments of the title. Not that this is "good" or "bad" in any way... just an observation.
But see, Lain tries to be cliched, but fails, and... bah, to hell with it. I learned a long time ago that defending my work if someone has a problem with it does nothing but increase thread sizes and my frustration/angst level. Other people seem to like it, so s'all good =)

Hmmm...that might explain the strange field-order problems I had in two clips of my Lain vid (looks like bad field order, but changing the setting didn't make it go away). I never IVTC'd, and the defect only shows up in the MPEG1 and MPEG2 conversions. The DV AVI file looked fine. Fortunately, that was the format I sent to Anime Boston and Sakura-Con.

Well, it's obvious that this video concept has been attempted before but why should anyone care? No one seems to mind when someone releases yet another generic action or romance video. There've been hundreds of those and people don't object when a new one comes around. The idea of making a music video about making a music video has only been done a few times in the past and it can stand to be done again. And without seeming worn out so far IMO. I've seen this video as well as Failed Experiments and Road to Iron Chef. All three videos address the concept of video editing itself and though they have their similiarites, for the most part all three are executed quite differently. I enjoy each of them. I'm sure the idea will get old pretty quickly but I felt this video was interesting enough to find enjoyable.

I liked it,I guess that isn't saying much as I like quirky off beat stuff. But I really like this video and if people are to uptight to enjoy it that is definitely their loss.

Gotcha : ). I haven't worked with it before (as much as I'd like to), but I do remember Scott complaining about some of its weird interlacing a few years ago, post-"Silent Lucidity."

I really enjoyed your vid (nice synch, and funny :D )

The texts are a little bit difficult to read (too fast), but everything else is good !

And I have to say that we really had the same idea here :P (damn, we even used the same sequences  )

If you added the dancing anime mascot lip syncing the song, then you could have got best of show. :)

Touche. I'm planning on some fuuuuuuuuun stuff for my Scryed vid in the lip-syncing department, though.

Quite frankly, a win's a win, and since this is my first, I'm damned proud of it =)
