The video I entered at Sakura-Con last week, "Why Does It Always Rain On Oshii?" is now available with both direct and local downloads:

I classify it as a "Drama/Parody" because the song and imagery are serious, but the purpose of the video is to poke fun of the way Mamoru Oshii recycles symbols and motifs in his films. The video contains footage from Urusei Yatsura 2: Beautiful Dreamer, Angel's Egg, Patlabor 1 and 2, Ghost in the Shell, and the live-action movie Avalon.
Now, I'm fully aware that audience reaction at the contest seemed to be fairly negative, so I'm interested first of all in getting opinions from people who have seen all of these movies. Regardless of that, if you saw the video at Sakura-Con, I'd really like you to give me feedback. Above all, please leave me an opinion, even if you think it sucks. Especially if you think it sucks! This is kind of a quirky idea for a drama video and I'd love to get some pros and cons.

Avalon is the only one of his live-action movies I've seen, but I've been meaning to see the others. (Do they have rain too?) I intentionally avoided including anything related to Jin-Roh since he didn't direct Jin-Roh itself.OtakuForLife wrote:Very nice, I loved that you used his live action stuff which I own...
But have yet to see all off, though his Talking Head movie really sucked
(sorry oshii)
