Hitting the floor never hurt so much(first amv)
I just released, well actually re-released my first amv. Not to worry its unlikely you've seen the original, but i didn't really update it all that much. All i did was put on an opening, and remove the subs. Well seeing as how the first was out for about a year and only got one opinion, i was hoping the re-release would get a few more. This is in fact my first vid, and my first and last time using adobe premeire, so take that into account, cuz i didn't alter the vid in anyway except for what i already mentioned.
Also the vid is called falling away from naruto(again) which is obviously naruto to the linkin park song hits the floor. The video qaulity is good, i was always proud of that, the rest, well that is what i'd like to know.

"This is merely a "remastered" version of my first vid. That pretty much means i removed the subs, and tagged on an opening. It still has almost all of its original flaws"
After reading that, i dont exactly see the point. If you knew about the flaws...why not fix them?

Several reasons. First of all for a first vid it wasn't that bad, and i'm a little proud of it. If i made any massive changes with the type of skills i have now than i would cease to be my first vid. I would like to keep it tha same for posterity's sake. I would like to look back at where i started from, but i had originally made a version without subtitles and simply erased it. At the time i was very much against that wide screen look, so i rejected it. Soon i became smarter and realized the lack of subs were a big deal, so i simply wanted to remove them. Its not a big change and it didn't take long, so i figured what the hell....

The purpose of "remaster" is to remake the entire video with spiffy updated and cleaned footage, fixing EVERYTHING that was wrong in the first one.
If your definition of "remaster" was the status quo, then over half the vids on the database would be remastered's...
We need an a-m-v.org dictionary now... Along with the sticky I recommended for download manager help for local links...

Isn't it, though? Doesn't the definition of "remaster" simply imply using a better source and nothing more?BrsrkEva wrote:The purpose of "remaster" is to remake the entire video with spiffy updated and cleaned footage, fixing EVERYTHING that was wrong in the first one.

I always assumed that the proper term for having gone through and fixed all a video's flaws (not just fixing bad A/V quality) was "redone" or something similar...

I just realized I worded my post wrong...Scintilla wrote:Isn't it, though? Should say "spiffy updated and cleaned footage, also fixing everything..." like the music quality, the flaws, etc, "...that was wrong with the first one." Some lines taken from Scintilla's post... Sorry for being too vague...
I plan on remaking both my Ready to Die and Demolition Eva videos. Reasons: DE has an encoding flaw, the framerate was bad during the video (damn you 20 fps and vDub!!!), and it was WAY too busy. RtD just need to be redone. Period. After the reviews and such, it definately needs to be redone. Gonna make it nice and spiffy! And actually edit it...
A good example of a remaster is Pie's Quahog Kombat (the remaster isn't out yet), but from what I've seen, it's gonna look damn good!

Does anyone ever wonder why i put the word remastered in qoutes. I let you in on a little secret, its because of all the reasons you've stated. Its becuase it isn't actually remastered. I just had always planned on putting on an opening and getting rid of the subtitles. I have no intention of ever actually remastering my any of my vids, cuz there is nothing all that wrong with any of them. They have good video and audio qaulity, but bad timing and they have nothing all that great about them. I would have to completely redo the vid and make it completely different to make it any good, but if i'm gonna do that, i'd might as well make a whole different vid cuz this vid wasn't all that great of an idea in the first place.
Imagine your talking to someone and when they say a word they do that stupid qoute thing with their fingers. Thats more or less what i was going for. Ok.

Putting up a vid like this is almost against the rules. It's the same video, just with a bumper and no subtitles... AbsoluteDestiny told me something when I asked about the premiere date on my DOOMSAYER video... "don't upload a video or put it into the database until it's done." It went something like that, I'm pretty certain it was that exact wording...Seki The Ifrit wrote:Does anyone ever wonder why i put the word remastered in qoutes. By uploading the video, again, you just wasted ~40 mb of space and the mods/admins need to delete one or the other, mainly because what you did here was just put some "finishing touches" on an AMV that was "finished" last year... Follow the advice that AD gave me, and you'll be fine...
Earlier in the year, some people made a "remastered" version right after the release of the initial video, then found something wrong with it, fixed it and uploaded it to a new entry... This is sorta what you did here, but at the same time, something you didn't do. You waited a while, and at the same time, just removed subs and added a bumper, a lot of improvement that was... /sarcasm
So far, that's about 6 cents I've given out that I want back...

Actually the old one is slated for destruction, and should be erased any day now. I made sure to ask Phade about getting my vid erased prior to uplaoding the new one. So once they get around to it, the old vid will be erased, its on the soon to be erased list. I made sure to follow the rules and ran it by the guy that runs this place, to my knowledge. So in a couple of days it will be taking up less space cuz the new one is half the size of the old one.BrsrkEva wrote: Putting up a vid like this is almost against the rules. You can't have your six cents back cuz you spent 4 of them debating what i meant by "remastered". I thought the qoutes would have made it obvious that i was using the word in a joking manner, seeing as how there's no normal reason to be using qoutes in the first place. I never thought me using that word would turn into such a big deal with you people. Damn, all i wanted were some opinions, but i got none.
