Nice idea.

Although, as you said yourself, audio is quite bad. No, ... it is rock bottom.

Besides that I think you should replace the low quality footage with some self-made stills (and maybe add some Nerve-Logos). And some of the scenes lack good timing.

But overally a really nice idea.

Well, at-least that was constructive bashing...
What parts weren't timed well?

I came really close to quittting this hobby today :)
I decided, I have one or two last videos in me. Then I'll
retire and let Phea and SPAF take over.

Hmmm ... I should be more precise ...

I know Run Lola run is very fast paced, and so are some of your cuts. And this is OK for a fast paced trailer. So it is not exactly bad timing.
But some of those scenes are very hard to recognize because of the fast pace. ... uhm, difficult to explain ... With two or three scenes I do not get the slightest idea what or who is going on.

Hope to see another vid of yours :wink:

I actual trailer is like that :lol:
But, anyway I will be doing at least:
One More AYA AMV (using the song Sage F - Rewrite)
One Tokyo UnderGround AMV (Undecided , yes fansubs and yes I don't care)
One More Kino's Journys AMV (Using Motorcyles - When the Rush comes)
Then I'll probally take a long break untill I own all the Saikano DVD's

The main problem I have is the diffrence in quality, if they had both looked crappy I wouldn't have noticed. I got my Lola DVD at best buy for ten bucks, it's not that hard to find for cheap. Also, and this is just my thing...why is Shinji screaming when it's soppused to be about Asuka?

Keep in mind also that when I see the telephone, I understand why it is there, but some people have not seen lola...so they don't understand that.

In addition, just because somebody says a vid is lazy doesn't mean that's not constructive. I've worked just as hard on videos and had people tell me they were lazy, and I would agree. in fact in my Lola video with Losing grip (no longer up, because it had no anime) I used up a whole minute on the little cut scenes with the photographs, because I didn't know what else to put there. Similarly, I felt like including certain footage from the actual trailer detracts from it, Like the cop kicking the "football/soccer ball"...I understand that's a cool part, but where does it fit in in the video. Granted saying someone is lazy and putting a link to the amazon.com dvd isn't not as construstive as my comments, but still, don't get offended when you put you stuff out there to be looked at, because not everybody will be nice and constructive. Get over it.

i just downloaded your video. here is my two cents ^^

-=PRO=-
+: i liked your build-up at :26 - :33. i thought it synched well with the audio.

+: the video (for the most part) was cut right where it should be. Parts that were needed to build up suspence for this were used rather well.

-=CON=-
-: the lack of a decent quality trailer kinda killed it. if you could land yourself a better trailer (perhaps at Apple.com movie trailer site, you could have better luck with that) ^^;

-: When you had the text screen for "Run Asuka Run" at :53, i think you should have just remade the "Run" screen and used it twice. the difference from the bad quality trailer you had to use and then the freshly created Photoshop one stood out too much. if you changed it, i feel the part would come off much better.

-: at the very end when you used your "Run Asuka Run" shot, i think a fade in of the name would have worked better, because it kinda just jumped from the Asuka shutting the door shot, into the name. i dont know, thats just what i would have done. ^^;

i hope this helps in any way, shape or form. keep it up! :)

I gotta jump in for Otaku's defense. OK, yes the trailer quality sucks. Even I have to say that. Yes, the DVD is only 10 bucks anywhere. Brian's broke and needs a job. If he had money, I know he'd buy it and would have used that instead. Plus, he was very into the idea of doing the vid, even at the cost of using a very shitty trailer. I will say he did spend like an hour looking for a decent quality trailer and like and hour cleaning up the audio. Also, he tried to "redo" the trailer with his own "plot." It was Asuka trying to "go back and fix things" so Shinji didn't go nuts and kill her. Let's see... ah yeah. The scream is from Asuka; she's screaming because Shiji's gone nuts and about to kill her. The phone: that was supposed to be someone listening to what was happening(Shinji killing Asuka). Anyways, I probably went on too long, so I'll end it here.

Are you speaking to me? Cause I'm Otaku's friend and I'm just defending him. I didn't make the vid.

i agree with most of the general opinions here so far

audio quality was horrible, but i wouldn't call it shit, i can imagine worse, so i'd still give like a 3 for audio... if i was doing an op at the moment... maybe a 2, is that suppose to be singing or dialogue?

good buildup and use of crucial scenes, but still i also agree that even though you used text, the actual plot was not recognizable, and by recognizable, this means to the average viewer, me never seeing run lola run, i would be a prime example of the average viewer, someone watching a trailer, so considering that, i could not tell what ur trailer was about without reading the video info... even then it was still sketchy, seemed like it was gonna come together but it never did for me

biggest problem i had was with that screaming scene that is suppose to be Asuka/Lola screaming but she's just standing there not doing much, it's almost like shinji is screaming, but with the plot line, Asuka would be the one screaming because shinji is trying to kill her

but i think most of the actual sound effects sync was right on
If you're reading this, you've gone too far...PREPARE FOR RETRIBUTION!!
Don't judge an AMV by it's anime.. u nooB ;D
