Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

The lack of actual comments about the video (in English anyway; es gibt nicht so viele hier die Deutch verstehen koennen) is somewhat disappointing -- as is the one didn't-fucking-get-it opinion left so far.
Despite the fact that I'm really not into Eva -- and into Eva videos even less -- this is a thoroughly great video, maybe second in this particular caption behind Oto's Wasteland. Yes, there are some parts that didn't quite hang conceptually, and there are some places where I might have made different choices, but to take on Opeth in your third video and actually lay down 8 minutes of videography this well says a hell of a lot about a creator.
as per the actual topic:
issues with the video -- Just two, really. The first is personal stuff about scene selection: in the brutal stretch in the middle of the video, any shots with a bright blue sky as backdrop feel off, disconnected from the main conceptual thrust of the piece as well as dissonant against the music. This is not a piece for bright, light colors, and the feel is best when the palette is dark or even just subdued. The second is more technical: occasionally the sixteenth-note bassline breaks are just dropped, videography-wise. That's not cool, as those bass runs are one of the distinguishing marks of the song. Sometimes there's a high degree of movement in the picture that blends with the bass, sometimes not; given the speed of the notes and the natural framerate, it might have been cool to see what reversed field order might have contributed in those breaks, though this is probably getting a little crazy. Sewwa's strength is straight kickass videography, not deliberately damaging source for effect.
good stuff -- The conclusion of the brutal stretch down into the final acoustic section is absolutely inspired. Most of the video is occupied with just building up to this point, the devolution of the Eva into absolute animality, and then, snap, right back to Shinji more or less in absolute shock, the clinical kind. It may be pretentious or just offbase to say that this video is about the human capacity for inhumanity, and how people react to the discovery that they're capable of stuff like that -- because an sich this is simply a kickass Opeth video -- but that's certainly how it plays, at least on my end.
4/5 - great stuff.

Shin Hatsubai is a Premiere-free studio. Insomni-Ack is habitually worthless.

huh, thanks for the greath and long review, the thing with the blue sky: now that you mentioned it, you're right, but when editing i was happy to find such a long fight were shinji mostly got beaten up, cause it wanted to dramatize the point where the growling begins.
To the bass synch: I didn't really put an ear on the bass while editing or when I look at it now. But I'll keep it in mind and try to put an ear on the bass the next time.
The reason I choose EVA was the consequence of thinking about making an Opeth AMV (since they are my favourite band). I needed an anime with a good contrast between aggression, power,(...) to helplessness, weakness,(...)
I finnally decided on EVA cause of some great scenes where i had ideas with, for example the final screaming and that many sad expressions. So it went its way.
