First of all, I was permanently disturbt by the subs and the divX logo

I think your music choise was quite appropriate but you should have synced it more with the footage. Your scene selection seemed random - but maybe I just didn't get it since I don't know the anime. Did you try to lip-sync?
Overall your amv was ok considering that it was your first one.
