My 2nd AMV - "Just a Replica"

Post by Clowd » Mon Feb 27, 2006 11:09 pm

I've finally completed my second AMV, "Just a Replica" to the anime Last Exile, and the song "Replica" by Sonata Arctica. Personally, I'm surprised that so few people have heard of this band, they might be from finland, but they're quite good, in my opinion.

I created this AMV for two reasons. First, I haven't really seen, or found, any Last Exile AMV that I liked that focused on the theme of war within the video, hence my inspiration to make one. Secondly, while listening to Sonata Arctica, which my friend showed me, this song "Replica" particulalry hit me as one that fits Last Exile very well.

The main theme of this AMV is about war changing people, the AMV focusing upon the feeling caused by that change, and the overall feeling of war. I feel this AMV shows a greatly different feel than what is given by the anime itself, but a feel that lies underneath the lightheartedness that it often has.

Opinions and some critique much appreciated and accepted!

Enjoy!

I know you don't want to hear this, but I'm going to say it anyway.

Please do not bump your thread. It is looked down upon on this site. All a bump does is force OTHER people's threads to the bottom of the page and (eventually) off of it. Is this really fair to them? I'm sorry if people don't look at your thread or comment on your video. I have the same problem. The irritating truth of this site is that only the "famous" creators get their announcements noticed usually.

If you want feedback of some sort, please utilize the Opinion Exchange forum. You'll find lots of nice people there that are perfectly willing to look at your video.

There. I said it.

I liked it. The song is really nice. Also, I think u should have make more use of it, like more sync i mean. To take advantage more of the video. You can make it better, because the song allows you to do so.
Then, I also liked how it started, the mood and the colors. But in the middle i think you just put a long clip and there you could have done better. Well, my opinion though. SA is good.

dj_ultima_the_great, thank you for telling me about this, I understand what you mean about this. I guess it just kinda bothered me that nobody posted anything for over a week despite the fact that this topic was on the front page. Oh well.

~Chrono~, thank you for your input about it. Yeah, the middle-area of the AMV was a bit rushed to put together compared to the rest of it, I personally find it hard to find clips that go good to just music like that.

Again, thank you.
