- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

someone has already said that in my previous topic, and i need to figure out the program used to get rid of them.Nunchuck wrote:For the love of god... cut out the sub titles... 1/5
what does it matter if the subs are in there for this AMV anyways? you cant tell what they're saying if they arnt there and seeing what they're saying adds emphasis to somber moments in an AMV

The amv is something that have hard time from the start - you are combining anime with song that (in creators idea) wasn't meant for the actual footage. But that's not all, You actually want the viewer's to believe that the song and the anime is one entity here.Dangan wrote:

Now, when you add subtitles you do three things, which are a complete disaster for the video:
1) You tell your viewer something like - "Hey It isn't actually one, look :. That was the dialogue that was in anime in that moment, not what lyrics show now in the song". So you intentionally break the connection that you were suppose to create.
2) You distract the viewers from watching the actual vid. I for example whenever see subtitles in amv start to read them instead of watching the vid. So I cannot feel any moood you wanted to achieve, or discover any connection between music and video since I'm simply not concetrated on the vid.
3) You show that you work with fansub material. Well in many cases it's pretty obvious since the quality lets people know about it. but since the site etiquette is against fansubs you should at least pretend that it isn't from fansubbed footage by cutting thos damn subs.
I hope that will make you understand why subs are something that shouldn't be left alone
