Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

It's bad style to protect yourself against fraud? I'm sorry, but protection isn't bad style, stealing and ripping others work is bad style.Kalium wrote:They're distracting, and general bad style.
Anyway, not bad editing. You did kinda abuse the shatter effect, and you quite obviously used fansubs source (otherwise the funky AR makes no sense).
I'll have to watch it more closely before I can offer commentary on the narrative itself.
ShadowNOS, the video was very well done and the quality was supreme. I don't know about others, but it looked perfect on my flatscreen LCD display in Full Screen. Seems people just need something to complain about.
As for the rain. It was done well and added greatly to the fM. Does it rain when it's not cloudy and the sun is out? It most surely does. Would people be griping if you used the rain effect in some of the chorus and not all of it? They most surely would. Is it extremely apparent to anyone who has not seen the anime that the last few scenes are underground? Most certainly not. If anything, they'd have no idea because the sky is dark.
Then it comes to down to this, is the rain suppose to be taken physically? Or is it merely a representation of Sabers inner feelings? Who knows. Look deeper people. If emotions are shoved in our faces, it's cheesy and not well played out.
Overall, I'm quite impressed with this video. For someone who has not dwelled in the realm of emotional videos throughout his career, you've done a great job at adapting your videos. Everything was in order and represented in a well layed and thought out fashion. Quite a great video Nos. Better than most I've seen.

Bad style as in they are distracting for the viewer.[anubis] wrote:It's bad style to protect yourself against fraud? I'm sorry, but protection isn't bad style, stealing and ripping others work is bad style.Kalium wrote:They're distracting, and general bad style.

And really, if people want to rip you off on some third party site such as you tube, it doesn't matter much what you do (In this case, a person could easily crop out the watermark. Hell, most 'thieves' would probably post it with the watermark and not bother cropping...). Much like traditional copy protected mp3s and video, the "protection" is more of a nuisance to the good people than it is to those that would attempt to take credit for your work.
IMO, it is somewhat hypocritical anyways for people to try and stop something like this given the nature of this hobby. I've had most of my videos posted into you tube by people I don't know. At this point, rather than complain and bitch, I'm looking at it as an odd form of flattery...
If you have a problem with people posting your videos on this site, then make a post in the mod drop box forum and a mod will look into it.

That's all opinion. In my opinion, they don't. If the watermark was large, I would consider it obtrusive and in bad style. But considering this one is small and generally not noticeable... also the symbol is present in the anime... I have no problem with it.
Instead of looking in to the format of the video and the filesize, how about commenting on the Editor's skill, technique, and giving tips. Not a single one of these posts offers alternatives, and little to none of them center on the skill of the editor.

I haven't read a single post saying/written in the manner of, "I suggest not using a watermark in your next video, as I find them distracting and, generally, in bad taste. I wouldn't worry about ripping. I actually find it to be a form of flattery "CrackTheSky wrote:The alternative is to not put in a watermark Obviously if the watermark issue has generated this much discussion, it must strongly affect how we view the video.[anubis] wrote:Not a single one of these posts offers alternatives, and little to none of them center on the skill of the editor.
