A Heat Guy's Business (feat. Eminem)

Post by Vigilluminatus » Mon May 07, 2007 12:36 am

This is a Heat Guy J-amv mixed with Eminem's "Business". The main charas are Daisuke, J and Clair, and I tried to use scenes from each episode. It's a heavy lip-sync-amv and I would be glad if you could tell me if you found any mistakes. I watched it many times, but maybe you'll see something I don't see.

Pleasantly suprised, its a fun unique video, quality could be better but thats about the only thing that could be improved upon.

You've perked my interest.

/gets

EDIT: WTF? I don't think I've downloaded so many great AMVs in one day. This one is near the top, really this surprised me with its charm and completely flawless lip sync. Seriously, some of the absolute best I've ever seen. Also, you really captured the mood of the song quite well...I'm very, very impressed. Superb work, you get a solid 5/5

It was a nice idea to make this amv. I only know the anime a bit and it seams to fit with the song.

The editing itself was average. Uhm... I think the org average of the forums. Execution doesn´t really statisfy me.

-Video quality was bad
-Sometimes I don´t think the faces or the mood of the characters fit to the lip sync.
-I think that the "bad guy" fit more to Enimens voice. I wish that he would be there more often.

3.6/5 stars

I think that people that understand English better than I do, will have much more fun.

-_Lain_-: Thank you. Yes, the quality could have been better sometimes I admit, but I was just too eager to begin with the actual editing. Maybe I'll be more patient next time, though I know myself and can't guarantee for anything.

CrackTheSky: Why thank you. I'm glad you liked the lip-sync since it made me nearly go crazy a whole lot of times.

Bauzi: Since I translated the lyrics quite literally at times, knowing the lyrics is definitely a good thing. Bout the other things - okay, I already admitted the video quality isn't good, but I didn't think it's actually bad. I guess you've got more experience than I have.
- If you think about the ever-serious face of the white-haired hulk (J)... he doesn't have another one, he's an android. But I watched it again and you're right, there are a few scenes where Daisuke is serious and in the next scene he's showing a smile. But other than that I don't see what you mean - I tried to find fitting scenes for the lyrics.
- If you mean the violet-eyed blue-haired "bad guy" (Clair Leonelli), I barely found enough close-up scenes with him to do his lip-sync parts. And since he has far less screen time than Daisuke (the blond guy) I couldn't make him the main chara - too few fitting scenes.

To express my thoughts about the lip sync better:
This is a very very bad example how the expression of a face and mood can screw a lot of things in the amv. Your lip sync was definatly better.

Other point:
02:59
You synced with the whole images right? And that´s a problem. The sky moves one time faster and than slower.
There is a little trick. You worked a lot with lip sync now, so you´ve seen that there aren´t many frames needed. Most of the time it is a 3 frame method:
-Closed mouth
-Semi opened m
-Full opened m

Now. Take this 3 pictures. Make images out of them and only use them for the sync. The images should look like this:
http://img75.imageshack.us/img75/1339/01wc9.jpg
Key out the red colour and you don´t have to think about the moved background anymore. Of course this works also with clips of the mouthing mouth.

Visual Quality:
kk the visual quality is bad, but it is ok for the low filesize.

I think I should write an op for it (the usual Austria bonus ;) )

Why not just use Photoshop or The GIMP to make a transparent layer beneath the mouth cutout, so you don't get any red fringes around the mouth?

I was lazy and wanted to keep simepl and in this example: I don´t think that there should be a poblem.

Of course you can/should do it with a photoshop layer in Premiere. I explain it more in the op.

That was actually pretty cool when you stopped focusing so hard on the lipsynch. Kudos for making one of the very few HGJ videos. We really could use more of those around here. :P
