  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Final Fantasy and Avril ... I *thought* it was overdone...

Post by jnsparrow » Tue May 08, 2007 8:58 pm

When I originally made this video a little while back, I had seen a million already posted on youtube. Heh. But ... they were mostly bad, so I went ahead and made it, still thinking I was totally unoriginal. But I was pretty happy with how it turned out, so I'm glad I did. Then when I went to search on here, there were NO videos that I could find using this "anime" and song combination - which really surprised me, b/c it goes pretty well.

So, anyway ... enjoy! I reallllly appreciate any opinions or even quick comments!

It's primarily about FFX, but there are a few clips from FFX-2 just to help it move along.

Poor quality, watermark on some scenes, a border around some of the footage...wtf?

:P

Overall I actually really enjoyed this video. It's extremely cliche when it comes to the subject matter and editing style, nothing I haven't seen before, but you have a great handle on how to deal with beat sync and scene selection (which was by far the video's driving force in here). You got the mood of the song just right, overall this was a pretty darned solid video, and I look forward to seeing more really cool things from you 8-)

4/5 for good measure, would have been a solid 5 if not for the quality issues. Keep up the excellent work

Oh yeah, and what's with the indirect link? It's totally unnecessary if the video format and quality is exactly the same as the one on Local :P

Hey, some people don't like having to give star scores, and it helps reduce the Org's bandwidth costs.

Thanks! Ummm ... I guess the indirect links are for those w/o accounts? I had a slightly higher quality version, but it was 90MB - which I didn't think people would appreciate!

Hmmmm ... where are the watermarks? I thought I got rid of them o.0 I don't know about the border ... FF clips are weird and differently sized for different scenes, and I'm not savvy enough to alter the dimensions yet.

Thanks for watching and replying :-D

On the bordered footage there's a little watermark in the upper-right. Nothing major, and it's not on the actual footage, so it's not too distracting or anything.

You can crop those out. For your next videos, read this guide so you can get your video looking as good as possible.

Yeaaah! After trying at least 5 or 6 times to get my FFX-2 Video to upload at youtube without a lag I decided to come over here ... here is much better. I'm going to donate my $12 soon, too, hopefully :-D
