Re: La Fleur Du Destin (4th place/Big Contest 2013)
Thanks everyone! :3 It was the experimental work and we are happy that you liked it.
We always create our own stories-crossovers and try to make them understandable, but this work - the exception. This AMV/MMV was created out of love for the original anime / manga "Rose of Versailles". And some scenes can be understood only by those who watched the source. However, those who have not seen the source can be found in the "figurative" sense scenes, for example: the woman spits blood - in the source she had tuberculosis; but in our AMV it could mean something is "dead": the apparition of soul of her deceased lover. Roses also have a special meaning in this clip. The most scenes are about love feelings between the couple and the main events are: the woman spits blood (I don't know why) and they both fight in the civil war and die.
Friendship of the peoples: Japanese manga, French Revolution, Italian song, English text and Russian editors...Btw on the one side the song fits well to the drawing style, but on the other side it feels weird to see french people acting to an Italian song.

Thank you for the explanation. I think I understand it now - so her lover is dead and it's something like her guardian angel in the civil war? But he did then a bad job.Kitty-Galia wrote:We always create our own stories-crossovers and try to make them understandable, but this work - the exception. Roses are symbol for love and beauty but I don't get the "special meaning in this clip". I don't wana watch the Anime/read the mange to understand it, I think I wouldn't be a great fan of the series. But I like this AMV - thank you for making it.
Looked at that way it's awesome.Kitty-Galia wrote:Friendship of the peoples: Japanese manga, French Revolution, Italian song, English text and Russian editors...

Re: La Fleur Du Destin (4th place/Big Contest 2013)
so the dynamic duo is here again. And with such video...
It's curious that I was working already in a video using some of the sources here and this video reminded how to finish it. When I first watched the poster I already knew about the true nature of the char, since in the original source the char can change from male to female.
Solid video

The AMV sort of makes it look like the French Revolution took place in order to tell the story of these two lovers
That said, superb effects and technical work
I'm always impressed by your amvs. Keep em coming!

I wasn't all that hooked but the emotional impact of this AMV is quite incredible, it's so strong. And the composition work is just fabulous! I loved the abstract imagery, the colour & lighting, the manga animations (gosh they're so sleek, it's beautiful), the artistic pencil style/effect, everything just comes together so well and it looks great! The details are amazing so I applaud you for the effort and skill to pull this off. Definitely an AMV worth watching!
