As someone who had downloaded & enjoyed "Glory of Love", as well as heard of the after-effects of your work at Sakura Con among the female membership...I must indubitably say that you, dwchang of Ninja Gaijin Productions, are the man!
This video proves the madness of your skillz to the utmost. The maddest of props to you, sir. 8)

I'm a little mixed on this video. I loved the song, as I'm a huge Richard Marx fan, and it went very nicely with the footage, but I didn't feel it really presented anything new. There are a lot of other sappy, romantic Ah! Megami-sama! videos out there, so it wasn't a very interesting change of pace compared to what I've seen. The puzzle pieces... I'm not too sure why they're there. Putting the pieces of their romance together? They were kind of distracting, to be honest.
Overall: It was a nice attempt, and it was very heartwarming, but I'd like to see some more originality come out from the song. Nice though.

.....is it bad that I don't find this over the top at all? Or does it just make me incredibly sappy.....
Or maybe I'm still in the afterglow of making a romance video (or just excessively sappy myself, either or).
I have the pants to prove it j/kKalium wrote:And did this actually make AD physically vomit?
Yeah I actually thought it would hurt significantly to an audience, but guess not. Yay?TaranT wrote:Actually, I did read your writeup and understood what you were after. But still, someone at an exhibition isn't going to know that - although it apparently didn't hurt at Otakon.dwchang wrote:As for the reason, it's in my description, but I don't imagine people will read that ginormous thing. Basically it symbolisms entering (or leaving) someone's life. That's what I meant by bookends and why I do it in reverse.
Told ya so .Beowulf wrote:The video is very solid minus the white glow overstepping the picture border. The editing is tight and even though I've never seen AMG I could follow the plot fairly easily.
But the sappiness. I think this video is revolutionary in that it pushes the envelope of sappiness.
Sappiness Scale:
Glory of Love -> Michael Bolton's "When a Man Loves a Woman" -> This Video
Yeah I tried my best to edit it fairly tightly and make it "flow" nicely. Glad you appreciated it.

Thanks!Beowulf wrote:But good video non the less

Thanks! I'm not at all thinking "action fans" and such will like it, but I was just aiming for a good romance video. Something that worked within the genre and thus your comments are appreciated.SnhKnives wrote:yeah congrats for winning man, its true, it was a truely sappy love story.
Well edited for its genre. congrats.
Well you should since it was made for you . We did it all for the glory of love right? Just don't tell Rozie's mom!Koopiskeva wrote:i found it to be absolutely arousing. |:

I don't at all expect everyone to read the (long) video description, but to vary degrees I did try to make something "different." If you've seen the show, this isn't how it ends and it took a lot of work to *make* a particular scene that doesn't exist. Most people don't seem to realize that and I guess that's good for the mask I used, but more importantly, hopefully people can sympathize with a fictional situation that in reality doesn't occur. I guess that was my "different take" on this (overdone) concept. Yeah I guess I'm reaching >_>Fungie½ wrote:I'm a little mixed on this video. Well again, everything in the video is intentional. This is also in the description and it was symbolic of her entering (and then leaving) his life. Symbolism with a hammer anyone? And again, I pretty much knew this si what people would think and thought it would "seal my fate" at Otakon. I put it in anyway since it's what I wanted to communicate, but I guess I was wrong in that the audience didn't hate it *shrug*. Your feelings are understandable.Fungie½ wrote:The puzzle pieces... Well, what can I say I am a sucker for sappy things. I think I am a bit biased cause 1. I'm a hopeless romantic 2. I love that friggin song! Those white borders just reminded me of ACen Iron Chef this year. Did you get the idea from using that from Iron Chef? The puzzle pieces....ugh....they were timed well that's for sure. ^_^**** I ended up liking the words at the end. At first I was thinking what the...why did the words stop then it got to the "chorus" and I'm like aaaaaaaaaah that was smooth. One more thing, when dude (man I forgot his name) was going crazy there was the brunette chick there. Was that Belldandy? She looked a bit different. (Then again I haven't really seen the show just the movie so I probably just got everything and it's mama spoiled but I don't care cause i wanted to see it. BWAH!) Anyway, congrats on winning. I say make more sap. lol

I think I know the scene you're talking about, and I personally think that girl looked more like Skuld, but of course I'm not sure because I've only seen the movie.lilgumba wrote:there was the brunette chick there. Was that Belldandy? She looked a bit different.
