Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

no ones bashing, were just giving examples of first or second attempt videos that are "worth something", Coran's "The world we know" is another excellent example, one that won the VCA for profile last year.

Oi. No matter how "overrated" people call it, Euphoria still amazes me. I'm rather proud of my own second entry as well (sig video), and whereas I can take constructive criticism, I don't take very likely to being the victim of a rash generalization.

No one was bashing him, they were simply educating him.

Guh...for Chihaya's sake, Al, stay on topic...

Anyway, I don't review very many DBZ videos myself, not being a DBZ fan in the slightest bit. In all my ranting about being offended, I lost sight of what I was going to suggest. Well, looking back now, I'm pretty sure it was something along the lines of what was said here already, anway.

um i saw it, brought back some old memories of me and the tv and dmz lol. um ya i made a matrix video, it got bad ratings en stuff, but i loved it, unlike the perfectionists out there lol. but ya keep workin man, we need more eye candy, i would give it a decent b- but as a beginer vid an A + for effort, keep it up
My strength is not that of the mountains, nor is as vast as the plains, nor does each wave crash upon the shore and thunder like lightning into my viens...but that which i can muster, and that which i will, i will bring myself foward into this world like no man has done before...

Misunderstanding is blissful

Post by Scyclone » Tue Sep 28, 2004 8:33 am

Okee, sorry to end up bringing back the old flame but I felt it was nessicary to end it properly.

When I say the first videos aren't very good normally. It is a true statement, you CANNOT count remakes in this section, they may be an old video, but it is new talent. You must also count your little "fooling" around tests as well. Just because it may not be published in a-m-v.org doesn't entirely mean it is your earliest ones, I'll be honest, my first two and my 8th one have been purposely removed because they aren't a good example of as good as I have become now.

Practice makes perfect, or better in the least. To beo, keep up the good work and keep practicing, I'll expect to see you in Otakon next year :). To Daio, I have to say, you are actually a pretty cool guy, sorry for my judgemental additude towards the "too long" review. I am glad that people who review videos actually watch the video and examine it. For doing this for my friend Beowulfe here, I have to say Thanks :).

And in final notes, Daio, I saw your Saturated video, I am unfamiliar with the anime in it but it was a very impressive music video.

And the majority of the "first" and "second" videos that do good are about 6th or seven by standards. (YOU MUST COUNT YOUR EARLY GOOF OFF VIDEOS PEOPLE :).)

Last message, I promise, Daio, do you have any programs that can help me remove the divx symbol? Also, what movie maker program do you use? I am looking for a new one, im still stuck with WMM atm :(.

You hurt my feelings! But I forgive you...at least you explained yourself. It's all good. ^^

omg [wipes tear from eye]
that was so touching, i feel like i've made a friend ^_^

i'll respond to you in a PM since that would get this thread off-topic

as for the counting you're early works, it's true, just because something is old and maybe crappy, doesn't mean you didn't make it, and it IS a reflection of ur ability, and even more so, it helps people realize how far you've come as an editor, it may hurt to do so, but i think everyone should include all of the videos they have available onto their lists (coming from someone with videos unavailable for dl... but that's another story)

afterall, it's always been a-m-v.org's goal to include EVERY AMV ever made
If you're reading this, you've gone too far...PREPARE FOR RETRIBUTION!!
Don't judge an AMV by it's anime.. u nooB ;D

Anyways, to keep things on a happy note, thanks for all the support you guys gave. I'm definately going to keep working hard and (hopefully! ) get better. Now, I ask one more favor? What should I be doing to improve? What would make it better?

Oh, another final request. Is there a better program (preferably free) program to use than WMM? Or as Scyclone said, to at least get rid of the DivX thingy...
