K-ON footage has lots of useful footage.
Lots of more than what has been showed in this vid.
There.

That was really cute, the simplicity worked really well for it! I think the repetition really skirted the edge of getting annoying/distracting sometimes, but it never got over it - so well done on that, but maybe you shouldn't push it so close next time
Very approved otherwise.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Re: That's What You Get When You K-ON!
This was a very good amv. I do think that you could have used a few more scene variations though. The only scene repetition that was really obvious was Ritsu's drumming. Did you consider flipping it horizontally to give the feeling of a camera angle change?
But anyway, I give you a 4/5. If you had used a little less repetition in the first 10 seconds, and taken advantage of a few more opportunities for timings, I probably would have gave you a 5. This amv is a very nice example of short, simple and sweet. Great Job

Actually, no... I didn't think about flipping scenes. Thanks, I'll have to keep that in mind later.

I'll chime in here to say I didn't notice the repetition at all. Not even the several times I have watched the video. Of course, I have never seen K-ON, but it can't be that obvious...

It was alright. A nice, clean simple video.
Didn't feel much relation between the music and the video though, other than putting instrumental scenes to the song bridge and some basic lip-sync. Editing was ok, I liked what you did at 01:39, but for the most part nothing really stood out much. I am glad to read that you decided to forsake effects for this video, I think it works well without them.
Overall, while I can't say I enjoyed it a huge amount, the editing was quite nice and it would be great to see more stuff from you in the future.

Just going to take the opportunity to say, before this thread dies out completely, thank you all for the insight you've given me and I'm glad some of you really enjoyed it. This being the first video I've made with Vegas Pro 8 after using WMM for so long, it was a nice change of pace. I only hope next time, I can utilize more of Vegas' potential and produce something great.
Thanks everyone for watching my vid

man thats one fast drummer ;p
for using K-ON!
Overall I enjoyed it, but negatives would be: the lypsinc could have been tighter and the repeated scenes did kinda bug me. (A trick I sometimes use when I HAVE to repeat footage is sometimes flipping it, or zooming into just a portion of it so it looks at least somewhat different at a glance. did this quite a bit for the band scenes in my Haruhi one. )

Re: That's What You Get When You K-ON!
Pretty much exactly the video I'd expect to be done with K-On as it's source. It's ok but as others have mentioned, the repeated footage kinda killed things. I'm not particularly a fan of trying to make it look like the anime characters are actually playing a song anyway. Watching someone drum just ain't that thrilling. It's why in real rock concerts they throw lasers, smoke, pyrotechnics, and all sorts of other tricks. It's also why a show all about a teenage rock band doesn't have much playing instrument scenes in it to begin with. I mean look at the end credits for the show, is the focus on them playing their instruments or is the focus on other more visually exciting stuff? Audiences get bored just watching people play instruments. I don't understand trying to emulate the most boring aspect of a live performance.
