- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

I liked your last one more but this one was still pretty fun to watch.
"The people cannot be [...] always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to [...] the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to public liberty. What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned [...] that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants."-Thomas Jefferson

And Vivaldi is right. Local upload isn't required, just the entry. In fact, people wouldn't be able to announce HMVs if local upload was required, even.Vivaldi wrote:I thought it's allowed as long as it has an org entry?Otohiko wrote:Oh geez, you guys are hilarious. I mostly mean that as a compliment.
However Atari's right to point out that the post is technically breaking the rules - could I ask you to upload the video to animemusicvideos.org's server? Original art/fanart like this is obviously very welcome here. Otherwise I'll have to lock this thread shortly I'm afraid.
/mod post
All announced videos must have a corresponding entry in the AnimeMusicVideos.org database
As for the video, I'll have to agree with those that say that it's good but not as blowing as the first one. The amount of references of Yuri the only one was just striking. Still good job, keep it up.

Re: "Guitar Hero Hero" Music Video
So far we haven't been getting as much buzz with this one as with the first one. Our approach was to try and do something with original characters instead of relying on copyrighted characters. The goal was to make it easier to understand for casual fans who won't get the references, and make it more TV friendly... So far it hasn't worked as well as I'd hoped.
I also think that because the song is about being good at video games, instead of a love song, that women (who make up the majority of our fans) are less interested. The next single we do is going to be a love song (again.)

Re: "Guitar Hero Hero" Music Video
All joking aside ...
I think it doesn't have to do with the lyrics characters or subject matter at all. The references in the first ones are pretty well know, even by non geeks. People my general age know about mario zelda and streetfighter, it's fairly common knowledge as far as I can tell. I don't have any hard evidence to back this up, but I know my friends who are what I'd call more regular guys know "sorry mario your princess is in another castle" or What pikachu is.
I think the problem is the autotune.
IMO it doesn't match the more hard rock style of guitar playing and throws everything off.
Do you really wanna be these guys?
I really think what you guys are doing is awesome, making your own music about geeky type stuff, and also using your own art and characters to make the music videos. I definitely think you should come out with more stuff and can't wait to see what's next.

That is perverse.
and to actually contribute something to this topic: I liked Yuri the Only One better, because of the references.... Pop culture refs == win.

Trying to get the song in front of Activision, G4, gamer blogs etc. has been more difficult than expected so far.
