  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

As far as expectations are concerned, I didn't have any set at least in regards to the first one because Ayumix 2 has a completely different line-up of editors from the first one(w/ the exception of Bakadeshi and Niotex). It's almost like something completely different if you think of it that way.

My expectations/hopes for this MEP were basically, as long as no one half-asses their track like in an average MEP, then we'll do good, and individually, if you've seen at least one video from each person in this project, then it's very clear that we didn't have any half-asses lying around.........right, guys? :P

But I'll agree with whoever said about the effects and syncing, though. It looks like almost everyone(including me) were in the midst of trying something new in this project. I think the whole really happy dance trance factor brought that out.

I agree with everything Unlimited Rice just said, especially the part about everybody trying something new. For me personally, the music wasn't like anything I'd edited to before, so I was trying out things that I wouldn't normally do. As to whether or not it turned out great... eh, no two people I've asked have said the same thing.

Overall, I'm very happy with what we've put together here. I know part of that is just the giddy feeling you get when something you've worked on comes together in the end. But I honestly am really impressed with the level of effort that everybody put into their tracks. It's not something that you'd find in an average MEP.

What could've helped during the editing process: more feedback. It's great that we all had the opportunity to post and comment on each other's betas, but sometimes I still felt that we were holding back, for whatever reason. Maybe we were afraid of stepping on each others toes, I donno. :amv: I'm somewhat guilty of it, too... there were suggestions sitting at the back of my mind, but some of them didn't come out til too late.

My favorite tracks: Krat's and Unlimited Rice's.

No need to be so jaded; there are definitely more. You just have to know where to look. :o

It's really hard not to compare this to the original Ayumix. When you set the bar that high in the beginning it's hard produce something that's within the same quality or harder improve it.

Eh... well, my opinion was that the bar wasn't set that high in the original. Back then there were a few tracks that stood out real well just as much as it's doing here. I gotta agree as well that there was a lot more experimentation going on in this project by the editors than what they would have normally put in. Experiments have a way of... blowing up in your face?

I would like to jump in a serious project some day like this, but I'm far too damn lazy to put in the effort. My interest level most of the time in editing a video is around 4 hours. Lawl to the person who hires me, I'll give him/her my 10 percent.
