For some reason this seemed really unsynced. The song is sorta flowy like the visuals, I guess, but your rhythm didn't really match the song's rhythm. Is it all lyric sync (which is hard to tell when I can't understand the words)?

Looking at a translation while trying to watch the video doesn't *really* work, but thanks...Bakadeshi wrote:Translation is in the vid description now :O It for the most part seems to me like she pay attention to the lyrics as a whole more so than trying to literally sync each line.Shazzy wrote: (which is hard to tell when I can't understand the words)?

You did really well on 3 things, that I value the most:
- Mood. Srsly awesome. GReatly enhanced by jumping from ancient paiting to modern animation, and by connection between ryuya, and spinning top
- Flow. Again great job. The music and video felt really connected, and I haven't notice scene that would seem out of place
- Originality. While you did show simple romance, you showed "ancient story romance", which isn't so often (though that is more thanks to anime) also, I haven't seen yet any AIR amv concetrating only on relationship between those two characters.
So yeah, this amv works really well in my opinion.

I'm glad this seems to be getting some attention...I was kinda worried it wouldn't garner much, so thanks everybody for your comments!
@post-it: Thanks for posting the korean lyrics up. This version of the lyrics is actually missing the very first word in the song, but no big deal.
my pony, Niwa-kun, ScorpionP, tu tu: thanks once again for your comments. Now I really feel motivated to finish another vid before heading back to school. ^^
why are my responses so long T_T
Haha maybe that's turning into a studio style? I really hope you do pick up Air, though (at least the movie anyway). The story may not be as sophisticated or exciting as some, but I really find it's worth it for the Kanna/Ryuya story...too bad it holds so little screen time T_T.Ileia wrote:I like this video a lot, it reminds me of Jasper's Frost and Flames because it focuses on a story not normally potrayed in videos. I haven't ever had any interest in watching Air, nor had I had anything but faint interest in Kaleido Star, but both videos make me want to watch their respective animes. Good job!
Aww, I'm sorry you feel that way...but then again sappy romance isn't for everyone ^^;. I admit I don't usually tend to lean toward watching romantic vids regularly myself, but thanks for taking the time to watch this one anyway.CrackTheSky wrote:Great editing, but the story didn't really grab me or hold my attention. Just seemed really typical. Overall the video was really just 'meh' to me, because these kinds of videos are a dime a dozen.

As I mentioned in my 2nd post (responding to Bakadeshi), I actually tried keeping the progression of the vid and the lyrics as independent as I could, only relying on some lyrical cues. I guess most of the flowy "unsync-ness" could've come from me wanting to sync more internally to the music rather than on the direct beats and also from the longer fades I used. And Bakadeshi's right in that respect...the translation is a little rough because many of the lines in the lyrics are continuing sentences that wouldn't really make sense as stand alone lines after being translated. I hope you didn't find this aspect to detract too much from the vid though. ^^;Bakadeshi wrote:Translation is in the vid description now :O It for the most part seems to me like she pay attention to the lyrics as a whole more so than trying to literally sync each line.
These all seem like the main points I was trying to hit, so I greatly appreciate this. And I the ancient paintings...especially since so much of the other footage was covered in floating cherry blossom petals that made my eyes cross if I sat and edited for too long.Szwagier wrote:You did really well on 3 things, that I value the most:
