that reply was powerful.pen-pen2002 wrote:Main if flying laser babies were chasing me I'd be terrified. "I'm gonna die, and incidently I'm also completly insane." Which is not far from the case here...
AMV's and Horror have a strange relationship. More than any other genre, people can't agree what it is or isn't or even if it exists. Here is my take: If a dark video really grips you and demands your attention that's horror. It doesn't have to scare you, it just has to create a powerful feeling of tension. In my mind that is the highest compliment a Horror video can recive.DrngdKreationz wrote:Powerful.

To me, a horror vid has to phase me in order for me to consider it horror, meaning I have to be somewhat disturbed after watching it in any given way. Generally, Perfect Blue vids have that effect on me.
Back on topic though, I also wanted to add I liked the editting style as a whole, namely because it relied so much on the motion present in the animation. I'm glad you didn't go effects crazy, as it probably would've hurt the atomsphere IMO.

The best effects are the ones you don't notice.

Well I'm glad you said that. I was starting to think I made a mistake not putting in too many effects and keeping it simple. I've gotten a number of reviews concerning the "laziness" of not synching the sub-beats, and not adding effects.
The most interesting feedback I've had was concerning the titles, I never knew how much they affected the flow of the video for people. I guess that's one of those problems you can't see on your own, I know the story and I know what they say so I just ignore them when I'm watching it.
Oh, and Otohiko, I was wrong, I've only gotten 1 Kevin Cadwell comparison, and that was rather favorable. Guess all these newbies are uncultured philistines.

That really means a lot to me. You have always been someone I've looked up to both as an editor and in terms of your view on life. To tell the truth you've been somewhat of a mentor for me here at the org ever since I started making videos.Otohiko wrote:And to be perfectly honest, this gets my personal 'prize' for both my favorite video of the year and "favorite video ever that does not feature any weird colours and/or highly distorted imagery"
