Well the footage looks like shit. Interlacing, compression artifacts, and no effort at all to even vaguely try to clean it up. The lipsync was worse than a bad kung fu dub. The concept is pretty much nil, even after seeing it I still see no real connection between the song and the footage. Hue cycling for the lose. For some reason you inserted various desktop wallpaper you found around the internet. The cut outs around 3:20 were so bad I could barely tell what they were even supposed to be. The subpicture thing got really annoying really quickly. The effects were childish, trivial, and just plain bad. Overall the video doesn't make me want to flat out vomit but I am tasting some bile right now.

So all told, you're correct. This is the best video you've ever made.

Not only is this the best video you've made... this may very well be one of the best VIDEOS ever made. Everything about this video is genius in ways that would Einstein roll over in his grave... twice. A single tear rolled off on my cheek and echoed on the floor in the silence of my amazement at the profound magnitude of this unrivaled masterpiece.

Using a still of Vash at 0:34 while showing a montage of his life strikes a bold new victory for all mankind in the realm of good taste. I certainly can't imagine I would've thought of anything like that for that segment of the song. Well played.

The lipsynch where Vash looks as if he doesn't care, because it "doesn't matter" to him at about 0:46 is a perfect contrast of emotion underlying the very bleak atmosphere of the song. The shifting colors matching the piano chords starting afterward certainly struck a chord in my heart.

At 1:19 comes one of my absolute favorite parts of the video. "But now you've gone and thrown it all away." In this scene, Vash drops a bag of donuts in his melancholy as this lyrics are sang. This was indeed a masterful play on metaphors. The donuts were the happiness in his life, but he went and threw them all away. It really made me think for awhile after that scene. It made me clap. Outloud.

Following this was a torrent of emotion perfectly synched to the despair being poured upon me by Freddie Mercury's lulling falsetto voice. It was enough to make angels weep. I certainly did. At 2:12, however, a poster of Trigun appeared. This was a little confusing to me at first. It took me a minute to realize exactly what was going on, but I eventually figured it out. The previous minute had been so overwhelming, I had completely forgetten what series these scenes were from. The poster was there to remind me that this masterpiece you created was all from Trigun. I applaud you for both your wisdom and your modesty here.

After a rousing action guitar solo, I was treated to Wolfwood's intro. It was certainly most befitting of you to add him here to complement the first half of the video. Upon returning to your four-square-over-a-larger-picture montage, I was reminded again of the first scene where you first used it with Vash at the beginning. Doing so brought it full circle, the way Colonel Troutman explained to Rambo how he had to come full circle in Rambo III. Sheer brilliance.

Then comes the lipsynch. What can I say about this? How can I put it into words? I didn't have to. You already did that for me.

With the final action sequence kicking into play, I was spectacle to some of the finest action scenes since Nighthawks [costarring Billy Dee Williams]. The climax of the video led to a series of gunshots passing through Knives, and finally reaching the apex of the song on a bullet exiting his thigh in a glorious 5 frames per second.

In the end, everything was wrapped up as cleanly as a buddy cop film when backup arrives just after the final showdown. It even felt like the end of one of these movies when the song ended, and I saw the words "The End" appear over Vash's smiling face, firmly and succinctly letting me know that the video was indeed at the end, and that it wasn't some kind of trick.

Overall, I feel as if I haven't said as much as I could have about this AMV. It was truly a piece for the ages, and I would be boggled to see how it could be easily forgotten. To further enjoy this video, I'm contemplating putting Bohemian Rhapsody on my MP3 player, and printing out screenshots from the highlight of your video and posting them on the wall of my cubicle at work. When asked, should any free soul come across that place, in all the countless centuries yet to be, may all our voices whisper to you from the ageless stones, "Go tell the AMVers, passing by, that here by Sailor Earth, we lie."

LOL, I bet it took requiett longer to type that post up than it took to make the video. Hilarious stuff.

SE and her pals ONLY do that... >_>

Thanks to Requiett, I'm going to download this. :p

Watched: Wow...that wasn't that great. It was supposed to be serious and I laughed outloud at least 4 times. 2/5

By the way, nice spelling of the file name. "Vash Rapycity"
>_> You had the song RIGHT THERE, how hard was it to look over?

JaddziaDax wrote:could use some deinterlacing (this is something you want to do on your clips before you edit) thats what those little lines on the movements are... interlacing, its better to edit with deinterlaced footage..

the masking was interesting... could have used some cleaning up at points, what programs did you use to make this? looks like photoshop or something similar...

and does this mean youre not using WMM anymore? O.o

i kinda likes the "blue/purple" effect, but im not really sure what to make of it..

it will be kinda hard for you cause so many people will be comparing it to Evangelion Opus which uses the same song and is a great vid, but very hard to follow up on..

anyways interesting, and i would say that its an improvement on previous videos of yours i had seen

lipsync could use some work @_@ but yea i donno i just try to avoid lipsync when i can O: (in my own videos that is)
I second that all, and add to work on footage as a best bet. Oh, and if you need help, pm me.
