If this is a bad instrumental, then I love bad instrumentals.
Good job!

I really liked this
If you had put some more thought into this, and prob work with an idea for a month you could have made something amazing.
But for what it is, I really enjoyed it.

I love God is an Astronaut but I actually found this quite boring due to the anime. A better source would have probably won me over but meh.....3/5

Re: Prodigi. Genius Party. God Is An Astronaut. Remember Me.
This video makes me want to finish my Explosions in the Sky video. Other than that, well it lacked a little effort here and there, but I guess it's good to get you back into the editing mood huh?
None the less I liked it, due to the sources, still at the beginning I felt the editing a little to hactic and at the end a little to mellow. I want to see more Prodigi Post Rock videos like this only with more effort in them. I guess this is a good restart huh?

Eh, not bad. I liked the idea, but the editing seemed way off to me, like you were editing to a different song altogether. The choppy-slo-mo thing you did at the beginning and end was cool though.
3/5
However, this video does a good job at addressing the growing problem of Japanese schoolkids carrying live grenades.

Very pretty.
I disagree. But thanks =oAnimated24 wrote:Minimalistic masterpiece of the year.

No more vids like this. I probably wouldn't watch them >.>AaronAMV wrote:getss
edit: awesome, we need more videos like that
Thanks Bard. Also I'm really sorry for forgetting =x I feel like a jark.Brad wrote:I approve.
Also makes it so I don't have to do my Baby Blue video.
You've got me on that one. I never actually watched it, I just edited to it. It was all in japanese anyway. I have no idea what the hell was going on but it sure as hell looked pretty.Vivaldi wrote:I liked it a lot. Some of the Jump cuts were annoying though :/
Makes me want to watch the movie to find out why he was carrying a grenade for so many years.
Yeah, I felt the same about that. Kinda dragged out, but I really was limited by source. And trust me, there's not a lot more to know about the source :pPwolf wrote:only thing i didn't like was the middle part when they are on the bike. I also wish I knew the source better. Other then that, nicely done.
Pwolf
But thanks Scott!
I didn't do any effects (except for some subtle - or sort of subtle - stuff about 2/3rds in) so it was the source. I thought about replicating it but I decided I wanted to leave as is since it was only on the flashback/childhood sequences.ArashinomeAMV wrote:I actually really enjoyed that. I liked it a lot more than your animatrix video in all honesty. Tho, I don't know if that blueish effect was the anime or you, but I would've liked to have seen some more of that because it really enhanced the mood of the video because of how well it worked with the song. If you didn't do it yourself it could be pretty easily replicated in AE. Small complain tho. I really dug this and don't have too much to complain about. Good stuff.
Thanks.Phlu wrote:Really amazing stuff, enjoyed the whole video.
What Scott said.Ingow wrote:Good song, but for an ambient video not minimalistic enough. The storyline felt dull at parts because you still were somewhat forced to care about it too much. Also the entire source felt too 'japan-focused' for my personal taste. Seen those types of train and school uniform and walking back home and riding bike scenes all before a hundred times, does nobody ever tire of them?
Editing was good though.
I see.Vivaldi wrote:You know, that's actually kinda another thing. Not really that it should have or would have been better minimalistic, but:Ingow wrote:Good song, but for an ambient video not minimalistic enough. You got my hopes up.Animated24 wrote:Minimalistic masterpiece of the year.

This vid was good, although it's not really my kind of stuff. I think you managed to do what you wanted pretty well and it would've been hard to make this movie better.
Thanks.Falconone wrote:nice video good job
That's coo Todd. I see where you're coming from. And I appreciate that you're honest and not like "i liked it" like a lot of people do when they critique friends vids. I wasn't really trying to pull off anything cool I was just messing with sources and felt like finishing/releasing something.Fall_Child42 wrote:I didn't like the Freeze frame quick jup editing for this video. I don't think it suited the style at all.
I feel it should have been a much smoother flow.
Sorry man.
Let's get drunk and make another camero.

Here's a secret: I'm a horrible AMV editor.~MimS~ wrote:Source hard to edit on...
It's too long for not enough emotion.
Not bad but not good.
You're one of my favourite AMVers, I know you can do better videos (not considering the time you spend for editing Remember me)
Woo! Thanks dude. Glad to see someone took such a great liking to it =DOtohiko wrote:After the negative comments here, wary of the scene selection and also being really not a fan of post-rock in general, I sorta went in to watch the preview for this skeptically...

What the hell is wrong with you people, this was awesome. Great atmosphere, in fact you exploit the mundane bits of the footage really well and actually make them interesting. It'd be easy to drop the ball on something so slowly-paced and non-story-oriented, but obviously you knew what you were doing.
Good stuff. I for one am glad you made that. Definitely a strong instrumental vid
=O! Deal. Also. Should I...ZephyrStar wrote:This won. Next time I see you I'll give you a box full of bad instrumental if you keep doing this :O

Already told you I loved it, but I'll still post here anyways. Huge win for the song of course, and I just really enjoyed the way you put this together. Very awesome stuff.
